Hmmm. It seems rather expensive compared to $3 per season price at Big Lots a few months ago (i.e. $21 + tax total), but for those who don't have these and need them now, I suppose it's an OK price. I only need season 7 (since most Big Lots didn't have that season), but I'll wait for a much cheaper price considering I've only gotten 4 episodes into season 1. Didn't Newbury Comics via Amazon have some of these on sale (not as cheap as $3 each but certainly cheaper than this which works out to $14.28 ea.)?

I blind bought the first 6 seasons through Big Lots as well. Just checked out the first season earlier this month...really liked it. at the $100 DotD price, however Amazon sells many of the individual seasons for around $30 so they'll have some takers today I'm sure.

$3 a season at Big Lots? Wow! I bought each season as they came out for around $28 or so. Ouch! Oh well, it's a great series and watch them all the time.

I'd really like to get seasons 6 and 7 to complete the series but after getting 1-5 at Big Lots I just don't see myself spending more then $10 for each season

I bought the set from ebay and it was bootleg version and I had to return it.
And I ordered the set today from Amazon.

Big Lots was clearly selling the sets at their bottom line cost. $3.00-$5.00 is what a retail store loses in inventory if DVD box set is stolen (I've worked in retail before at a video store and know this for a fact...a stolen box set would cost our store $5.00.) For whatever reason, Big Lot decided to just part with the sets and make no money off of it, or very little. I find it a bit unrealistic to compare amazon.com's sale to that one.
My question is have the seasons been lower than $14.99 at stores not blowing them out before? At amazon.com, for example?

^I agree with calhoun07. It's like saying the Twilight Zone set for $100 was a shitty deal because some people were able to nab it for half that during the Borders coupon glitch. I got the Tales sets for free, but that doesn't mean I think people that paid $3 each at Big Lots got ripped off.

Exactly, that was what happened to me on another DVD set. There may be a good reason it's so cheap on eBay.

Oh, how I miss they days when Big Lots would sell stolen merchandise. Sadly, none of these ever showed up at my local stores.

I was fortunate enough to score TFTC Seasons 1-6 at Big Lots for $3 each...I have a few extra seasons that I need to throw on the trade thread.

I agree also. Wasn't it discussed extensively on this board how Warner was suing the company that was supposed to destroy a bunch of discs and instead sold them to Big Lots?
