$12.99 for The Simpsons Season 12 ?? Didn't that come out in the last couple of months at 29.99-34.99?

Wow! Those are some amazing TV set prices. 24 s7, Family Guy v7, the two-packs for $15... I think I'm going to have to get down there first thing on Sunday.

The Arrested Development price isn't a big shock (they're now perpetually $19.99), but considering how new those 24, Simpsons, and Family Guy sets are $12.99 is crazy low.

Makes you kind of feel like a sucker for buying sets at the original sale price, instead of holding out and saving big.

Anyone suspect that Phillips Blu Ray player deal is likely to be bested by anything worth waiting/fighting for in a few weeks? I'd rather "go Blu" for a price closer to $100, but since Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is on the "To Get" list anyway, I'm tempted. Plus, this way, I won't have to fight BF shoppers in a month for a player and can concentrate on finding good deals on titles instead.

Hope AMAZON matches the prices, like they usually do, on 24 S7 & Family Guy V7 as the closest Target is 90 minutes away. I would buy Simpsons but after the packaging they used for S11, I think I'll quit until they start coming in a keepcase. Just makes you wonder, if they are this cheap now what are they going to be Black Friday?

Thanks, I think I might get Family Guy Vol 7.

If you are interested Best Buy has an InsigniaŽ - Blu-ray Player for $99.99 this week through Saturday. Shipping is $6.56 online if there is not one in store. I'm not sure if anyone will have a Blu-ray lower before Christmas or not.

I'm partial to Phillips because I've had a (reasonably) good experience with their warranty coverage in the past. Still, I'll look into the Insignia deal; thanks!

Pelham is awesome... but I already saw it a few months ago. Might just rent it 'til black friday comes around. I bet it'll be on sale then.

Might buy The Big Bang Theory season 2... and Carrie Underwood's CD would make a good xmas gift for a friend.

I wonder if Full House is on sale b/c of Jodie Sweetin's book coming out Tuesday? I am definitely buying her book next week, if nothing else.

For me the problem with that one is that the specs seem to indicate it only has HDMI (unless I'm just clueless which is possible). Since I'd be using it as a backup on an analog TV for when I want to watch a movie I only have on blu-ray but the main TV is in use by my wife (so I'm using as a DVD player that happens to play blu-rays), just having HDMI doesn't work for me.

Looks like I'll be taking my receipt for Gremlins on Blu-Ray back, and getting them to refund the difference in price. I paid $22.99 for it when it first came out. I haven't opened it, yet, so, that's a plus, if they won't just refund the difference.

This has already been on sale for $19.99 for at least a week or two already now....in fact, the shelf tag for it said the sale lasts through the end of this year into early January, so you can go there today if you want (I already did this same thing myself)....
Also, you'll have to re-buy it now and return it on your original receipt, as their "refund the difference" pricing policy is only good for 2 weeks (while their return policy is 90 days).....

Season 7 of 24 is mine . . . already. Why wait for them to run out on Sunday, when you can buy it today while it is in stock, and price adjust on Sunday? Intelligence is of no value unless you act on it. At those prices I fully expect the TV offers to sell like hotcakes. DVD Talk members have no excuse to wind up empty handed on Sunday.

Already have an Audible Account. I'd rather get it locally at Target because i have a 10% off shopping day with my Target credit card. I can save an additional $29.50 on it, plus see it in person, take it home with me and not have to bite my nails waiting for the mail carrier or UPS guy to deliver it.
Plus a free $25 gift card could come in handy in the future.

I do wonder if this ad is the only free gift card offer with iPod touch purchase until Black Friday.

That's what I did with the Simpsons season 12. Wasn't sure if I'd be able to get there first thing in the morning on Sunday, and I expect it to sell quickly for such a low price, so I'll just go back and get my receipt adjusted at some point next week.

Since I was already at Best Buy and have to go to there again on Tuesday, I got 24 S7 and Simpsons S12 at the full price and I'll PM them on Tuesday. While I've had Best Buy reps call the other store to check inventory when initially purchasing something for a pricematch, I've never had them call when simply pricematching a prior purchase. Hopefully that's still the case.

It's a bummer (and I didn't know until yesterday) that BBY dumped their extra 10% off the difference price guarantee, so it would cost the same buying at either Best Buy or Target. The 2 differences are Best Buy is closer for me and Best Buy usually has more stuff on the shelf than Target.

Also, I found 1 24 S7 with a slipcase, even though it was a little beat up. They had both styles of Simpsons S12 for the same price, so I bought the flat style package figuring that's what it looked like in the ad.

Crap--I didn't know they dropped that 10% policy. I just bought Simpsons and 24 today expecting to get an extra $2.70 off each tomorrow. I have a $5 off $25 coupon at Target--will probably just return at BestBuy and go there instead.

In light of tomorrow's Full House sale at Target, check out this rendition of the Full House theme song... found it on Dave Coulier's Twitter. Fans of early 90's sitcoms will find other songs on there too.

Goddman it! When did this happen? I bought the 3 sets I wanted the other day, all for about $125, and I wanted the extra back which would account for an extra $8. Are you sure youre not wrong? They may have pulled a fast one where they say they dont give the 10% agains their own adds but still do with competitors

I haven't checked recently, but usually I have to make a stink to get them to honor the extra 10% of the difference part. They always try to tell me they don't do it anymore, but the last time I checked their Price Guarantee policy is clearly posted at the registers at customer service, and I kindly point out that their policy right there still clearly lists 110% of the difference. So, if I were you, I'd check their signs about the policy or ask them to show you a copy of the policy.
I have a couple quick questions about the 24 season sets that will be on sale this week. Does anyone know if the re-release of Season One (the special edition in the metal case) will be included in the $12.99 sale? Is this newer version of season one worth getting for that price if I already own the original release of season one?

At my store, no other Simpsons seasons were on sale and the only other $12.99 seasons I saw on sale were Dead Like Me S1-2.

Simpsons S12 and Family Guy V7 are mine! I wanted the head Simpsons one but my Target does not have it in stock and I believe my Best Buy only had one and I have to work until 3:30pm. Oh well, I cannot justify spending $18-28 more for the season when it's Comic Book Guy.

BestBuy didn't do the 110%--just a flat match.

At the Nashua, NH store they had like 6 or 7 Simsons S12 and about 5 or 6 24 Season 7. All the simpsons were flat boxes--which is what I wanted anyway--haven't bought any of those specials boxes--have too many shows on DVD and can't afford the waste of space from those.
They also had all other seasons of simpsons for 12.99, also a lot of the 19.99 two packs were 14.99. I remember that 70's show, angel, pretender, my name is earl--i think all of those were 14.99 (if their regular price is 19.99). Also seemed like most (but not all) of the 26.99 ones were 18.99.

NOTE: when I went to best buy, they also seemed to have a bunch of stuff for $12.99--i think I saw Earl 1-3, Simpsons 1-10

I stuck with the heads because I was too lazy to send in to get the box for season 6. I should have gone back to the regular boxes with Season 11 since they look different. The next season coming out is Season 20 and I have only seen the flat box version so maybe there will not be a head special edition.

I noticed recently that the BB near me had changed the posted policy (on the wall near the service desk) and there is no mention of the 10% any more.

The way I found out about the extra 10% price guarantee being dumped was I looked at their signs posted on the wall behind customer service and didn't see the 10% (110% of the difference) listed any more, so I asked and was told corporate took it away a few months ago. It's pretty obvious why... they didn't like people getting an extra 10% off since they know the ads get leaked the week ahead of time. Plus with CC gone, I don't think there's anyone left who gives an extra 10% off on PMs, so why should BB keep doing it? It's no big surprise that companies take away more and more of the perks and deals as time goes on. This year it's the extra 10% PM, last year it was being able to use coupons on sale price items, the year before that it was cutting the RZ rewards percentage from 3.33% to 2%. Next year they'll take something else away... it's just how it is when there are fewer competitors.

The next season coming out is Season 20 and I have only seen the flat box version so maybe there will not be a head special edition.

Well the one Simpsons Season 12 head box was still there and I was able to price match it after the guy attempted to see if it was in stock by going to the Target website and not even seeing it. I wasn't going to try and push it if I did not get it, but since I did thank you random Best Buy employee!

Still waiting on an Amazon price match. Or else I head to Best Buy for a price match because lord knows, Target probably sold out in ten minutes.

Went to Bestbuy looking for Firefly, and price matched 24 S6 and 7, and Simpsons S12 no problem. Cashier had to call over manager to override. I had 3 ten dollar reward zone GC's, so they came out to 2.99 each, The cashier said I was robbing them

If your Target is sold out of any of the sets, just get a rain check. Or just grab an ad while at Target and price match at Best Buy or Walmart. There's no reason for anyone to not get their dvd.

I picked up The Simpsons S.12 and every disc was scratched. Thanks again shitty packaging!

I know this is the Target post but since many people are getting The Simpsons Season 12, you might want to know that Bestbuy has Seasons 1-10 for $12.99 each

Got up early to go to target and get the simpsons season 12. I figured since they have the head packaging in the ad they'd be stock with that... and at least have one copy....wrong! When I saw they only had the regular package I decided to ask this woman for help ( to see if there was any in the back). Long story short - she was a pretty funny lady. She looked and it said they had 3 in their system. But it was all normal packaging. I showed her the ad and how it was different. She was like.... Oh WOW! $12.99 that's pretty good huh? Hmmm I see the package is different.. (she turns to me & says) That's false advertising! Ya know you should really do something about that!.. lol I said I KNOW! *Finally a sales employee that understands me & relates!!* :beer2:
Anyway I had a laugh and said thanks but I'll try another target. Tried another target - they only had the regulars too. So I went to BB and found my Comic book guy head. (They only had 2) And thankfully got another nice lady who didn't give me any problems. Overall it was an interesting hunt and I enjoyed the shopping. Got a pretty good deal. It felt like a mini Black Friday preview sale. But with less crazy people & no mobs. Thanks for posting the ad.

Which makes no sense because "going greener" on sets only means something if you're eventually going to throw them away.

Oil is needed to make the plastic cases.

Interesting. I wonder what the "3 Exclusive Songs" on the Glee Soundtrack Vol. 1 will be?

If anyone finds out, please let us know. Thanks!

Right. And if we're getting all these scratched discs because of this "greener" packaging, it's only going to result in more plastic being used for replacement discs.

So true. Reminds me how I heard that the total energy expended to generate the electricity to recharge an electric car is at least as much as to produce and refine the equivalent amount of gasoline. I heard a similar thing about Ethanol vs. gasoline. Now onto more important things than the environment or politics... DVDs!

When I picked up Simpsons S12 and 24 S7 at Target, there was only 1 left of each afterwards. Today I went to Target again (for non-DVDs) and the shelves were bare. I don't think my Target got in very many copies (which is typical of them). But when I think about how bad inventory is at my Target, it's a wonderland compared to my Walmart which doesn't even carry either of these. I guess the latest seasons of "unpopular" series like Simpsons or 24 are already "too old" to be carried by my Walmart.

I got the 2-packs of That 70's Show Season 3/4 and 5/6. When I picked up the 5/6 package, it sounded loose. I checked the other two on the shelf and it was the same thing. I figured I would take a chance. I didn't realize until I got to the car that season 5 and 6 were released in single disc case width 4-disc cases! No wonder they were moving around.

I saw that Season 7 was $18.99, but I'll wait until it goes on sale for $10. It's the only season I need. I don't plan on getting the last two seasons which is when Eric was gone.

They had Golden Girls Season 1 and 2 in a 2-pack for $24.99. I remember the individual seasons were on sale a couple of months ago for $9 each so I'll wait until that happens again before picking them up.

oh, okay. i guess i never noticed that before, i'm just used to seeing most stuff in widescreen i kind of take it for granted. Family Guy S7 just threw me off cuz it said "full screen" across the top of the package on the sticker that seals it, whereas prior sets were boxed.

do you not have a Best Buy or a Wal-Mart in your area? Take the Target ad to one of those stores and pricematch.

Only the packaging with the head sticking out was price matched (as the Comic Book Guy would say "worst packaging ever"). I think most people are buying (or want to buy) the regular flat packaging. I don't know if you can remove the head sticking out without damaging the package and end up with a regular flat package. I already got mine at Target and since Amazon is (as usual) a little late to the PM party, I'm not going to return/rebuy from Amazon just to save $1.04 of tax.

Target Exclusive Bonus Tracks:
-I Wanna Sex You Up feat. Matthew Morrison (Will)
-I Could Have Danced All Night feat. Jayma Mays (Emma)
-Leaving On A Jet Plane feat. Matthew Morrison (Will)

Was hoping for the mash-ups or Dianna Agron's "I Say A Little Prayer" (which is actually the iTunes Bonus Track), but still glad to have three more Glee Tracks!

I looked at Target for an ad to bring to Best Buy, but couldn't find one. I was going to just print it out, but I see it's up at Amazon, so I think I'm just gonna order it there.

Don't know if this should be its own thread, but I saw Target has a rack of $5 DVD sets (2-4 discs) of funky old cartoons. Most are 99 cent store junk (Princess this, fairy tale that), but they had a 12 episode set of the Dungeons and Dragons animated show, Flash Gordon animated by Filmation, Beetle Bailey (didn't know there was a sereis) Popeye, and some compilations that include Snuffy Smith, Hoppity Hooper, Gumby and Betty Boop. Weird.

The Daybreak thread should probably be renamed Target now carries $5 Mill Creek titles.
