i highly recommend this box set. i picked it up half a year ago when Amazon ran the same sale - except i think it was $48.99 at the time

Goddammit. I was hoping this sale would come around again this year as I had to sell my set that I got for about the same price last year when I desperately needed some cash. Of course it happens in between paydays when I can't afford it.

I picked it up about 2 years ago when Amazon had it on sale for around $57, so this is a very decent price.

How does it compare to the individual releases? The Psycho and Rear Window Universal Legacy Series releases have two discs, but it looks like the box only has one disc per movie.

The individual releases are better, but the 11 other pictures you get are WELL worth the $54. I paid $60 for it used and I'm still very happy.

Interesting that you mention those two because of all the movies included the only ones I already have are the new Psycho and Rear Window releases. So I am in the same boat. But in the end I decided to go for it anyways just to get the other 12.

That's true. I guess I didn't think of that. I'm a special features type of person and I really want the 2-disc sets but I feel that films like The Birds will also get the 2-disc treatment in the future.
