I know this pops up from time to time, and it looks like it's come back 'round. 62% off retail price. If anyone hasn't checked it out yet, it's hard to beat for less than eleven bucks a season.

If I only had any extra money. Le sigh.

Great set. Great series. Nice deal if you don't already own it.

I especially really like the compact packaging design on this set (and with Buffy).... I wish other complete series would follow suit, as this would save a lot of shelf space.... maybe they can't because of a patent on this package design?

Do you need to have seen Buffy to enjoy Angel?

Never watched either series but at just above $10 a season, this is tempting

Someone could correct me, but I believe Target currently has the 2-packs of Seasons 1 & 2 bundled together and 3 & 4 bundled together for $19.99 each. It would be another inexpensive way to check out the show (though that may not be of help to Corey living in Canada).

No you don't. It helps with the characters a little bit (especially in cross-over episodes) but everything you need to know is summed up pretty well in the pilot and then the show becomes rather self-contained.

There are a few crossovers with "Buffy" but nothing that doesn't get explained within the specific episodes. It's a GREAT, GREAT show (better than Buffy) at at $50 for the whole series it's a steal.

Every now and again an inside joke will fly past you. But Angel stands completely on its own as far as plot and character development. If you haven't seen Angel but think you might be interested in it, jump on this deal before it goes away.

God I still haven't watched the one I bought last year from Amazon in December

/\ Me too, haven't watched the Buffy set I got in November either.

I really wish I hadn't bought the individual sets (same with Buffy) when they first came out, this set looks cool.

Hmmm... I'm tempted. I plowed through the Buffy set when it was on sale last Nov/Dec -- I hadn't seen it, and fell in love with it! But I was so fond of the Buffy gang, and didn't think Angel was the most compelling character. For those who think it's better, how so?

So, what are the chances of a Buffy sale later in the week?

I had to get this. I loved this series and have been waiting a long time for it to come up on sale again. I highly doubt we'll see a Blu-Ray update for years so this is a deal I can't pass up. I'm so glad that I had extra cash this week!

Received mine yesterday! Looks great! I've already watched a few episodes. Completely a blind buy for me, but I love Buffy, so hopefully this set will continue to get better and better.

Season 5 is BY FAR my favorite season. It's the only one I own on DVD. I own all of the Buffy seasons on DVD (Chosen Collection).

As with Buffy, the Angel characters really grow on you, and you'll want to stick around to find out what happens to them.

It was more an adult show than Buffy. Both the character (Angel) and the actor (Boreanaz) come into their own early on. Boreanaz seized the opportunity and become a legitimate TV star, and it was cool to see that happen.

First season of Angel showed some growing pains. But it became a consistently well-written, well-crafted show about two-thirds into the first season, when it started to take shape as an ensemble piece instead of a star turn. Once that happens, it remains consistently strong through the end with very few missteps.
