So last night I turned on my Wii for the first time in months and noticed some flickering and lines going across the screen. I tried different connections and even tried my older component cables and still had the same problem. Is there a chance that the graphic card is starting to fail? Does anyone have any other suggestions? Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance.

Not my video, but does it look like this?

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/HNX27MOUMik&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HNX27MOUMik&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

If so then you've probably got the typical overheating GPU in standby mode problem:

I believe you'd have to send it to Nintendo to get it properly fixed, not sure how much that would cost. Mine does the same thing.

I thought they released a patch to stop the GPU from overheating some time ago?

Yes, exactly like that. Except mine doesn’t have that many lines going thorough it just yet. Which means I can look forward to it getting worse over time :(

That just sucks. I guess I'm SOL then. I should have just unplugged the damn thing since it doesn’t get used months at a time.

So does anyone know if Nintendo still warrantees that type of repair?

Oh shit. I haven't turned mine on in months. But I think the Power Button is Red so I don't think it's actually in Stand By. Maybe I should just unplug it.
