After seeing a thread with a "dirty" title that is over a week old and several pages long, I have to ask if the rule about using profanity in thread titles has changed? Because that would be cool.

You should have used some in this thread title as a test.

No, the rule hasn't changed.

It would help to know what thread you're referring to. It's not the thread with "Reaganomics" in the title, is it?

I suspect it's my thread about Dollhouse in the TV section... didn't know the rule about bad words in thread titles... apologies if anyone was offended.

Yeah, it's that one. I wasn't trying to call it out, I was just amazed that it could slip by the mods' notice for ten days and several pages unless it was kosher. As I stated in the OP, relaxing that rule would be fine by me, though I understand why it exists.

Is 'hell' considered profanity (as in 'what the hell')?

Those always seem to pass and there are a bunch of them (fine with me).

I assume that the thread in question is this (http://forum.dvdtalk.com/tv-talk/563061-fox-air-all-ordered-eps-dollhouse.html) one, which was originally titled "Fox to air all ordered eps of Dollhouse regardless of how shitty it is." (Which could possibly fall into the realm of trolling, too, I would guess.)

I noticed that as well and wondered if there had been an unpublicized change in the rules, which state that thread titles can't even use abbreviations like WTF.

The thread title has been revised on the TV forum.

Well that sucks because regardless of if you like the show or not (and I do like it) it was a funny title, and I believe it had more to do with how unsuccessful the show is (its ratings are the definition of shitty) rather than it being a good show quality-wise. At least that's how I took it when I first saw the title.

Thank god. I was terribly offended about the title. Filling the thread itself with profanity is of course cool, but I'm so happy the thread title itself is "clean."

Also, I'm eight years old. As are most of the DVD enthusiasts on this board.

The real problem wasn't the title, it was the offensive attitude to Our Lord and Savior, Joss Whedon!

I almost believed you until I noticed you joined in 2000.
