The discussion about Discoramaoverstock.com (http://www.Discoramaoverstock.com) was starting to take over the Yourmusic.com Thread (http://forum.dvdtalk.com/hot-deals/557169-one-only-yourmusic-com-thread-i-bmg-r-i-p.html) so here's a thread for them. ;)
In addition to regular CDs they do sell some cut-out titles which you can read more about here:Cut-Out Titles
Cut-out tiles are the discs that turn up in the discount bins at Wal-mart and other such stores, as well some larger record store chains. These are CDs that the label or distributor have decided to no longer carry in their catalog (known as "cut-out titles" in the business), and their remaining stock is sold in bulk at a deep discount, often pennies per disc. These discs are marked at the warehouse and sold in very large lots (hundreds of thousands) to wholesalers who specialize in these discs. The wholesalers then resell them to record stores and discount chains, in large lots (500 discs and up) without any choice as to which specific titles are included, although the retailer probably is told what the better titles are in the batch as a selling point. The wholesaler uses the sellable titles within these lots to dispose of the unsellable dreck also included.
A few of these discs are still in print in a different form. Sometimes one label will buy another, and the old stock will be cut-out, even though these recordings will continue to be sold with a different UPC and label name on the packaging. Sometimes titles will be replaced with an improved pressing (extra tracks added, remastered sound) and the old stock will be cut-out. Most often the disc is no longer in print at all. No matter why the label decided to let them go cheap, there are good deals on hard-to-find discs to be found in cut-out bins. Sometimes discs for which one has been looking for years will turn up.
On occasion, the sawmarks or drilling do not penetrate completely through the jewel case and leave the inserts unmarked. These could be moved to a new jewel case, and be indistinguishable from a non-cut-out CD. Be on the watch for this when searching through a cut-out bin, and try to look at all copies of any title you've selected to buy, in order to get the least damaged copy.
A couple corrections:
1. some cutouts are overstock rather then deletions.
2. There are a number of cutout wholesalers who do allow cd retailers to pick the titles they order in the quantities they wish.Feel free to discuss deals or Discoramaoverstock.com in general. :D

FYI-It seems Discoramaoverstock.com is adding a few new titles daily.
Also, anyone interested in the Bruce Springsteen-Working on a Dream CD and/or the [Limited Ed.] + [DVD] both are now back in stock.

I agree!
I normally click on CD under Shop by Category and then I slowly sort thru 19 pages of CDs looking for new titles.
I see they have added The Beatles -09.09.09 Promo Sampler for $50.00.

I would check their website everyday because it seems like popular titles (like The Beatles-09.09.09 Promo Sampler) are constantly in and out of stock.

I also just received a 20 CD order today and only 5 of the CDs are cut-outs.
And I definitely don't care if the CDs are cut-outs!

For those who check this website consistently enough to tell what's a new item, would you be so kind as to tell us what the new ones were that were added?

Looks like some new offerings, such as an iPod! Not a bad price, either.

One thing i have noticed, is that prices frequently go up on the cheapest titles, but never seem to go down. I suspect they're tracking sales & raising prices on popular items, possibly automatically with software. My point is especially with the free shipping, if you see something you want, buy it!

My problem with them is being forced to open a PayPal account just to make a purchase. I've dealt with several vendors who use PayPal but you're not forced to open an account just to pay. As long as this is their policy, they'll not get orders from me.

Can't you just enter your credit card at the pay pal link without actually signing up for Pay Pal?

Yup. Just got the Amnesiac 2CD/1DVD box, and it's brand-spankin-new without a cutout, punch, or notch.

I just got my order today and all cds were in good condition, though a few had slashed barcodes. But the weird thing was that my order was padded with an empty contact lens case, a full bottle of thyroid pills, and an exercise hand grip. What the eff?

Maybe the order fulfillment is handled by the same folks who ship out those "$5 Bag Of Crap". They just ran out of more desirable items.
Their B&M store on 8th St. is so narrow and packed that it's easy to feel claustrophobic...and I didn't even make it to the basement-dungeon.

I ordered the latter three Radiohead remastered boxes, plus a few other random titles. Shipping was free and they shipped via media mail. I got the package a little more than a week after I ordered.
A few notes:
1) "Amnesiac" was not cut out in any way, but the other two Radiohead titles had very minor cut marks on the UPC -- so much so that I barely noticed them and probably wouldn't have if I hadn't been looking. That was sort of surprising, as the majority of promos I've seen from the Capitol/EMI catalog department are actually cut out with a notch in the spine.
2) Amy Winehouse's "Frank" had a drill hole in the case. The other two titles I ordered were just fine, sealed and perfect.
3) They did leave out one of the extra titles. The email said they all shipped, but the packing slip had little check marks by all the titles save for the one that was missing. I emailed their customer service (late on a Friday), heard back from them very quickly (either later that night or Saturday) and they immediately shipped the missing title.
4) I did notice while checking out that the prices shown didn't totally coorespond to the prices that I actually paid. One of the Radiohead titles was priced $3 or $4 higher than the other two, but once it was in my shopping cart, the price dropped back down. Don't know if that was a snafu or what.
Overall, I was pleased. Looking at their inventory, it appears they get a fair amount of new Capitol/EMI stuff -- both catalog and new titles -- and new Sony/BMG stuff. I do plan to check occasionally for new inventory, but of course, I'll check here too in case folks are more diligent than I am ...

I ordered a CD for 99 cents and another for $3. The one for $3 has a small cut-out (drill hole) in the case. They both came with cracked cases. I emailed them and they sent me 2 blank cases.

Got my order today, took about a week. I ordered 5, all of them had either a hole drilled or slash in the barcode.
Keith Murray - He's Keith Murray (drill hole)
Lisa Hannigan - Sea Saw (black marker line on bar code)
A Fine Frenzy - Bomb In A Birdcage (small slash in bar code)
Chairlift - Does You Inspire YOu (small slash in bar code)
The Decemberists - Hazards Of Love (only one in perfect shape)
That being said, for how much cheaper these are, a slash in the bar code is nothing to me and I've bought promos/overstock before. For anyone interested, the Chairlift album they're selling IS the reissue with the 2 bonus songs. This was not mentioned on their website so yay!

They've added most of the Stereo Remastered Beatles @ $7.99-$8.99 & Past Masters 2 Disc @ $9.99. I've grabbed all the single cd's they had except Yellow Sub. They are sold out of MMT, hopefully the others are still in stock.
The only title they're not listing is the White Album.

Received my order on Tuesday.
The Cure: Trilogy - Live in Berlin (Blu-ray) $9.99
Echo & The Bunnymen - Ballyhoo CD $6.99 (Australian import)
No cutouts, slashmarks, etc. However the Ballyhoo disc makes a lot of internal, annoying noise in my drive/player. No other disc does that, so I'll try contacting them.
