Anyone order from Tower.com?
It was the only place I could think to look for a Canadian BD (Faculty) last week that actually had it in stock. I paid for the 2-4 day shipping, but I haven't received it yet. I checked the order status and it hasn't even shipped. What gives? It says the goddamn thing is in stock and it was in stock when I ordered it. What's taking so long? I emailed them and said to get the goddamn thing shipped or cancel it. I'm not waiting around.

Well, Tower was recently purchased by Caiman.com, who - in my experience - has been one of the worst e-tailers in history.
They drop-ship just about everything, so there's no telling when you'll actually get your item because nothing is really "in-stock" - and good luck getting a refund if they can't get your item.
But for every bad experience I've had, someone elsewhere is singing their praises. I would never order anything from them again.

As others have said, the only reason to ever order from Tower now is if they are significantly priced below other retailers. The service is shoddy with slow shipping.

- the item is not in stock anywhere else
- a reliable credit card is used
- the amount is not great
- you are prepared to spend time resolving any potential issues
- you dont mind gambling

Re: Anyone order from Tower.com?
Lesson: Don't purchase expedited shipping from Tower.com.
I place plenty of orders with Tower, and I usually get what what I order. The one time I didn't, the item was OOP but Tower still listed it in its catalog, so I took a chance.
Did you buy anything else along with the BD? Tower will hold up your order until EVERYTHING is available to ship despite what the shipping updates they email you say.

I never ordered from Tower when they were actually open. Now I will certainly not order from them. I actually want to receive what I order.
