Curb Your Enthusiasm - "The Hot Towel" - 10/11/09

"Mom, I was singing and Larry told me to shut the fuck up"

Not as good as the last couple of episodes but still good.

Definitely not as good as the first 3, but still had it's moments.

I was pretty disappointed with this episode after the excellent start this season.

An okay episode. After the first two being among the best of the series, I was hoping the momentum would keep going, and have some more Seinfeld development.

Also, no Leon? He definitely could have provided back-up for Larry.

I didn't laugh too much, but I lost it when Larry was yelling at the kid to "shut the fuck up."

Good point. I thought this episode was awful. I guess I'm just used to them being so good. With over 60 episodes I'd put this one with the 2 or 3 bad ones.

Geez... not the best episode of the series but it wasn't awful by any means. The doctor stuff and Larry running around trying to find somebody to take him in cracked me up.

When I saw Larry in his shorts and running all over the place I thought for sure he was gonna have to make a quick getaway out of town in a plane where someone else would complain to him about what he was wearing.

Not a fantastic episode but always nice to see the lovely Sherry Stringfield.

Seemed like a filler episode - and that it was "trying" too hard. Had some funny spots, but not as fun as the previous episodes.

I always get a kick out of watching Suzie curse out Larry.

Not a bad episode.

I got a kick out of seeing Christian Slater scarfing down all the caviar and Larry yelling "shut the fuck up" to the kid was awesome.

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm - "The Hot Towel" - 10/11/09

A little too many classic SEINFLED gags in this one. The hot towel thing was done better by Kramer in THE CAFE and Larry having the woman switch sides due to his inability to make a move with a certain arm was done in THE IMPLANT. Yeah, this isn't the first time we've seen recycled gags, but those two were one of the more memorable ones for me from Seinfeld's earlier seasons. As for the show, Larry was more of a neurotic curmudgeon in this episode than he has been in recent history. His antics were too over-the-top. Still enjoyed it though. I hardly doubt ANY episode from this season can be worse than most of the ones from Season 5.

Re: Curb Your Enthusiasm - "The Hot Towel" - 10/11/09

This and the 1st Episode with BamBam were the funniest of the season so far.

In fact, this WAS the funniest of the year. Hysterical episode.

The caviar, the opera singer, interrupting Sammy, Ted Danson, and 'Mr. Bookman' were all top-notch.

Kudos to Sherry Stringfield's makeup artist. She looked real good.

Yeah, maybe awful is too strong of a word but it's still in the bottom 5. The whole episode seemed out of place and Larry seemed like he was trying to be an instigator the whole night while being petty and a jerk. Usually, he questions things he thinks doesn't make sense or can be improved with usually good intentions while doing so.

Telling your friend's daughter to "shut the fuck up" after they let you stay the night to get out of trouble was way over the line even for Larry. Larry can be a jerk a lot but that's usually when a situation escalates and he starts to defend himself.

Also, didn't like him stopping Jeff's daughter from singing, same with the opera singer, criticizing a guy for wearing shorts, pestering his doctor for his personal number, complaining to Ted & Mary for not taking him to eat with his GC and using the lame hot towel incident to fuel the episode.

Also agree with CPA it was "trying" too hard.

Other than that it wasn't too bad. lol.

Don't get me wrong, I'd watch the episode again and it's still the best show on TV. Hope we see more Cheryl, Leon and the Seinfeld cast in the upcoming episodes.

Don't defend yourself, it was a really weak episode.

Weakest of the season for sure - only a few laughs. I did love Larry stopping Sammy singing and her yelling at her when he was just waking up though. The rest was meh.

Personally, I found this ep to be funnier than most. Larry says and does the things we WANT to do, but don't. Everyone at that party would have loved to shut that kid up, I'm sure. I laughed at loud many times.

I didn't care too much for this episode. Larry was WAY more of a schmuck than normal, to such a degree that it wasn't even funny.

If we're not gonna get the Seinfeld cast, then we need some Leon.

I've never understood how a man can maintain a mustache that thin, or even want one for that matter.

Nothing new to say, but definitely one of the weakest episodes of the show I've ever seen (my favorite comedy still running)

My only complaint with the episode. Other than that not bad but still might be the weakest of the season.

It might have been the weakest this season but it still wasn't that bad. Some of you are being too hard on it I think.
