Back to the Future better be. I mean it's the 25th anniversary next year. Prime time to release it!

I want to see:

The Alien movies, if not all of them then just the first one.
The rest of the Friday the 13th films
A Nightmare on Elm Street, which should have come out this year for the 25th anniversary but will more than likely hit BD next year to tie in with the remake.
Probably a ton of other ones I can't think of right now.

supposedly 2010 is the year Kenneth Branagh's 'Hamlet from Warner is going to get released on blu - I hope Warner's will also release more of their 70mm features: 'Mutiny on the Bounty' 'Grand Prix' on high def, er... blu-ray, as well.

I'm hoping for a Toy Story/Toy Story 2 BD release next year. I saw the 3D presentations last week and thought the picture looked so incredibly clear that it got me to thinking that maybe they are preparing BD releases of them to tie in with the 3rd film. I know Disney/Pixar has Monsters Inc. slated for BD release next year, but this would be a nice addition for Christmas next year.

I don't know if these will be released, but here's what I'd like to see...

Picnic at Hanging Rock (Come on, Criterion! Quit dragging your feet on this one! This film has never even received a proper DVD release in the US. It's still available in non-anamorphic only.)
Not Another Teen Movie (with everything from both DVDs, the SE and the Unrated DC)
Clueless (with all of the interviews from the 2005 10th Anniversary DVD, plus more. A commentary? How about some involvement from Alicia Silverstone?)
Jawbreaker
Black Christmas or Black X-Mas (2006) (I've got the Unrated DVD, the HD DVD, and the Canadian BD, but I want a US BD too!)
Ms. 45 (Image Entertainment never gave us a proper DVD. Non-anamorphic, slightly edited, no extras. Not even the trailer.)
Showgirls (This film could look outstanding on BD. But, MGM, please give us a real Special Edition this time with real extras like a commentary track with Paul Verhoeven, Elizabeth Berkley, and Gina Gershon. Maybe some deleted scenes, a lengthy making-of documentary with new (2009-2010) interviews from all participants, and the two teaser trailers that were present on the 1996 LaserDisc, but absent on every DVD.)
Friday the 13th film series (I hope they at least give us parts 4, 5, and 6. I don't really care if 7 and 8 ever get released on BD, but I definitely want 4-6.)
Halloween film series - Part II (1981) is high on my list as is part 4, but I'd buy parts 5-8 too, in a heartbeat actually.
Nightmare on Elm Street film series (I've got the Canadian BD of the original, and I'd buy it again if released in the US. Parts 3 and 4 are must-buys of mine, but I'd probably buy them all.)
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Part 2 (with all of the extras from the 2006 Gruesome Edition DVD)
Psycho film series (All four of the Anthony Perkins films. The 1998 remake and the 1987 TV movie Bates Motel can rot.)
Jaws
Jaws 2
Scream (the Unrated Director's Cut with 20 seconds of extra gore.)
Scream 2
Scream 3

I would love to see next year:
Rear Window
Tombstone
Beauty and the Beast (I'm hoping Disney will stick to its "Diamond" schedule.)

I predict that Scream will be released when Scream 4 opens in theaters...or when Scream 4 is released on Blu-ray.

Star Wars (IV - Vi)
Better off Dead
Back to the Future
Career Opportunities
A Thin Red Line

I would love to see the Addams Family movies on blu-ray next year, complete with deleted scenes, etc. (because the trailers show parts that weren't in the movies). I'm not holding my breath, though.

I'd like the following:

In Bruges - cmon Universal!

Atonement/Pride and Prejudice (2005) - Both of these should be out..now!

Dead Presidents - Maybe a tie-in to the Book of Eli?

Once Upon a Time in Mexico - Not sure why these three Robert Rodriguez flicks have not been released yet by Sony...

Swingers/Made - Jon Favreau/Vince Vaughn tie in to the (terrible) Couples Retreat?

The Talented Mr. Ripley - One of my favorites of the past 10 years...please Paramount please....

Brick - Rian Johnson's debut needs to be out in the U.S. on Blu...

Oh yeah..I'd also like Heavenly Creatures, City of God, War of the Worlds (2005), Minority Report, Hard Eight, Singles, Vanilla Sky, Finding Nemo, Scarface, The Last of the Mohicans and my favorite film of all time...The Abyss!

The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Dial M for Murder
The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946 and 1981 versions)

as well as the already announced Doctor Zhivago and Maltese Falcon.

BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, finally, please!
Warner's HD titles not yet released on Blu: GRAND PRIX, FORBIDDEN PLANET, etc. Universal's HD titles not yet released on Blu: SPARTACUS (unless Criterion is doing it with all the extras), etc.
PSYCHO, REAR WINDOW, VERTIGO, THE BIRDS.
Criterion upgrades of their Paramount titles: DAYS OF HEAVEN, ROBINSON CRUSOE ON MARS. Criterion upgrades of other titles: WALKABOUT (sort of announced well over a year ago); SEVEN SAMURAI, ONIBABA,
Region 1 releases that are available overseas: M, SUNRISE, etc.
Some of the most beautifully-photographed movies ever: THE DUELLISTS, BARRY LYNDON, CITIZEN KANE, THE BLUE LAGOON (I know, I know, but the visuals were mesmerizing!), THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, PAPER MOON, MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON, ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST, many more.
The better musicals: SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, OLIVER!,
SOUND OF MUSIC, WEST SIDE STORY, CHICAGO and (inexplicably MIA on any video format) LILI.
Epics that deserve the best PQ available: BEN HUR, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, A MAN FOR ALL SEASONS, LION IN WINTER, TEN COMMANDMENTS.
Disney films that have suffered horrible previous DVD transfers: THE JOURNEY OF NATTY GANN, WHITE FANG, IN SEARCH OF THE CASTAWAYS.
Disney live-action upgrades of pretty decent DVD's: 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA, SWISS FAMILY ROBINSON, NEVER CRY WOLF, TREASURE ISLAND, MARY POPPINS (why wasn't this released in Blu alongside the recent
"45th Anniversary DVD? For shame!).
Foreign-Language titles already available on DVD: AKIRA KUROSAWA'S DREAMS, RAN, FORBIDDEN GAMES, THE TIN DRUM, DAS BOOT, BURNT BY THE SUN, JU DOU, KING OF MASKS, oh, so many more...
Never (properly) released-to-DVD foreign-language films: JOURNEY OF HOPE, PATHFINDER (the original verion with Lapp dialog & subtitles), GATE OF HELL.

Oh, God, I could go on forever. A half-dozen of the above titles will probably actually surface on Blu-ray in 2010... the rest, well, I can dream, can't I?

AmityBoatTours

well according to bill hunt, at the Blucon on wed it was mentioned
"The rate of catalog releases on Blu-ray is going to increase in 2010 - particularly Universal suggested that they were going to get more aggressive with their catalog release plans on the format in the year ahead."
so hopefully this is the case and we will be seeing a higher output once more from universal on there classic catalog titles especially bigger ones, he mentions that bigger titles like jurassic park and others could be on the horizon for 2010

Sadly, I fear what Universal was really trying to say is "we're going to release a lot of catalog titles to BD next year, however they will mostly just be the catalog titles we already released on HD DVD back during the format war".....
