Last week's show was outstanding with the possible introduction of a new serial killer, and this preview looks great as well. I'm very pumped about this season. I do miss Grissom, but Langston has brought this show new life as leading man.

This is what I was talking about in the season opener thread. Not a single reply after the show aired? I had to hunt to the bottom of page two to find it.
As usual great to see Wendy. I'm not sure if that was a subtle way of letting the viewer know how smart she is for a possible transition to CSI or just a throwaway scene. I'm sure everyone is aware of which side of the fence I stand on that one.
The episode itself wasn't too interesting but the style of the flashbacks were very reminiscent of early X-Files for me.

Okay, going to be flat out blunt and say this episode sucked ass.
Nothing compelling about it at all. So the loser cubicle guy teams up with the cool tech geek who's getting laid left and right and they decide to form some half assed robbery plan? Then he dies after getting impaled by the safe.
Good Lord, Naren Shankar should never write and direct another CSI episode ever again.
With every season of CSI there will be a few crap episodes like this.

I just re-watched the safe cracking clip from mythbusters
CSI even used the same "movie footage" that mythbusters used

and it did blow the safe apart
but they had to water seal it with the door open to get it to hold water. trying to seal it with the door closed didn't work well enough
and the contents got pretty much destroyed
but the explosion part worked perfectly
and there are water proof safes available so we can give a pass on that part and assume one was used in this case

I have to disagree, I kind of liked it. For once this episode seemed to focus more on the criminals instead of the CSI's, which to me seemed like a pretty nice change of pace.

I liked the episode too. The writers keep giving us hints about Langston's background which could prove interesting in the future.

Watched it last night and for one of the less "serious" episodes, I found it to be pretty entertaining.
I had read in EW that this season they were going to try to go more in depth with the Langston character and delve into his background more. Presumably to try and let the viewer know why he bcame who he is today.
Oh, is it me or does Marg Helgenberger look mighty fine?

I liked this episode and the Office Space references. The plot was a little goofy - but it was a fun episode with references to Mythbusters etc. A bit over the top - but more of a nod to the "geeks" and the shows / movies we watch

I agree. It was cool to see the crime unfold from the criminal's POV. I wouldn't want to the show do that regularly, but it's a nice change of pace.
I'm guessing she's had a mini facelift. I'm not criticizing, mind you, but her face seems a bit 'up.' Gotta say, though--if she's getting work done, she's going to a good doctor. You can sorta figure out that she's getting something done, but it's pretty subtle--which is the sign of getting your money's worth. And it's not like she was ugly to begin with.

No but she has always looked old and weathered...
