There has to be like a 100:1 terrible to worthwhile post ratio for comments on any news site. The Yankees earned that right and the Twins are only being penalized because of their own crappy Dome contract.
When we inevitably go to game 163 next year we can do it on Monday like you are supposed to :)
I actually like the Twins getting the no rest, seems like odd things could happen. I don't like how our rotation sets up now, as Friday they could go Blackburn or Pavano, then on Sunday they could go the other or Baker.

Totally agree, teams like the Twins are scary when they are riding a high like the last few weeks. I equate them to the 2007 Rockies, as a hot team is team ripe to upset someone.
Although these teams usually run out of steam after 2 rounds. The Rockies played great until being swept by the Sox in the World Series that year.

I apologize if someone has asked this in another thread. Is there a way to catch postseason games online? I don't get TBS and while it's possible I can find somewhere else to catch a game or two, I'd prefer to do it a home. Got something in e-mail today about mlb.com offering something called postseason.tv - it's $9.95 for the entire postseason. Apparently, this was launched for the Twins/Tigers game yesterday. A few comments online by folks that used it said it was horrible. Anyone else try it out or know of another option?

I can't call in "Red Sox playoffs" to work. They have to realize that a middle of the two zones start time would be better than screwing an entire timezone of the country.

I agree, and this is the huge negative of the Wildcard round, you have too many games to schedule at normal times, so many fans will get screwed.
In the old days before the Wildcard, you would just have the NLCS & ALCS and the games would be at 4PM and 8PM. So you could knock off work alittle early for the afternoon game, and just stay up alittle late for the night game.
Now we have 2:30 starts, 10PM starts, and you follow a team all year, and then you miss parts or all of the wildcard round games!

This scheduling works for me, but they really should split the AL & NL to 2 different channels even if it means having games opposite each other. Of course, the diehards want to see every pitch of every game, so this is what they came up with.

Those were the days. Easy to follow and nobody (unless it was a west coast team playing in the 4 pm game) got screwed.
They should use TBS and TNT and just stagger the starts: 4 (TBS), 6 (TNT), and 8 (TBS). So some overlap, but for national following, you can watch the end of games if they are exciting.

Because another team with a huge east coast following is scheduled already at 6, and they're playing a team that's also on the East Coast. The Red Sox are playing a team on the West Coast, and in Anaheim. It makes sense given MLB's desire to have all the games aired and not overlap, as the other option would be to have games going at the same time.

Not enough. Their ratings impact will fade over time as well - for every Yankees fan there is, there would be 20 Yankee-haters who would say - screw it, I'm not watching this again. No OTA network is going to want to pay 1) what MLB would likelky seek for WS rights in the next contract and 2) suck up valuable October primetime real estate when Disney is there to plop down the cash for ESPN to air it.

Great way to start it. This was Girardi's first ever playoff game and he clearly over managed. Hughes needed to get out of the 7th and Robertson needed to pitch the 8th and 9th. If he got in trouble, Rivera is always a phone call away. Although getting Joba some work was a good idea. Hopefully he doesn't manage like this when they have a game the next day.
But Girardi did a good job with the pen all season so I'm not going to second guess him until it implodes.
The X-Factor for the Yankees, AJ Burnett going tomorrow. If he pitches to his potential, it's going to be very hard to beat the Yankees this series. If he pitches like shit, then I can't see the Yankees going too deep in this postseason run.
