Any Canadians ever bought online from Second Spin?

I placed an order with Second Spin today for the first time. The prices seemed too good to be true and I also got 20% off AND free shipping using a promo code. The shipping savings were $12.00 alone! I would not have placed the order without this code.

I've heard mixed reviews about the online store and I'm now concerned that it might not have been the best choice.

Canadians:

How long did shipping take?

Any other problems?

Thanks!!

I am not Canadian, but I replied to your same (similar) question in the SS thread in the Bargains forum. Besides, there is also the forum Search (the Advanced one, not the simple one) that would give you MANY threads about SS.

Tried several pages in this forum after searching, but could not find anything about orders shipped to Canada. Thanks for taking the time, I'll be sure to read your other reply.

I bought the DTS version of Apollo 13 on DVD from there, and I'm in Ontario. It arrived fairly quickly and was in excellent condition.

I have ordered a number of times from Second Spin (though not recently), and until my last order I was always happy. Customer service is excellent. Shipping does take forever. I don't think I have ever gotten an order in under three weeks.

My experience is similar, except for the not happy with the last order part.

Shipping frequently goes through Sweden, for some reason. I've had some orders take over a month.

Customer service is indeed excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again. The only problem I've had is that they sent me an incorrect version of a DVD. They told me to keep that one, and sent me the correct one.

I see. That would explain the delay.

I had a similar experience with a CD, where they told me to keep an incomplete 3-CD compilation and refunded my money.

However, my last order from SecondSpin was rife with scuffed CDs in raggedy digipak cases. The CDs all played fine, but for what they're now charging for used CDs, I expect something close to mint quality, not merely playable. I don't want to receive something that looks like it has been mistreated by slovenly frat boys. They should not let stuff like that pass inspection.

I'm from Australia and I've placed about 50 or so seperate orders from them and haven't had any problems. Only occasionally have I been disappointed with the discs. The odd very cheap one looked like a video store rental, but those are usually very cheap.
