DVDBeaver reviewed it, and said it's not really any better than the HD DVD (which I got for $4). I'll stick to that personally, but for those who don't own it it's a pretty good presentation. I wouldn't spent $30 to buy it though.

Same price. And it's vastly better than the HD-DVD which was 1080i and had jaggies galore. DVD Beaver was wrong, plain and simple.

I misspoke, I believe it was a 1080i conversion, but it still had terrible horizontal aliasing.

That's surprising - JoshZ's review here (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/25157/willy-wonka-the-chocolate-factory/?___rd=1) on the Willy Wonka HD DVD doesn't mention aliasing at all. I don't trust many reviewers but he's the type who will catch stuff like that in my experience. Hopefully we'll get a Xylon-esque comparison on this one.
Either way I'm good with the HD DVD for now. I'll get the BD when it comes down to $20 or less.

Did anyone else get Home Alone 2 on bluray this week. It sucks that there are no extra features, but it looks good, and I haven't seen it in years except for the edited for tv version.
