I thought this ep was hysterical

"Oh I'm sorry, I could put the trash in a landfill where it's going to stay for millions of years, or I can burn it up and get a nice smokey smell in here and let the smoke go up into the sky where it turns into stars"

Frank trying to hang himself for the second time was great

I got a chuckle out of Mac calling the guy Shanty. Overall, I was hoping for a bit more out of this episode based on the subject, but it wasn't bad at all. I'd put it ahead of the premiere and behind last week's.

If you're referring to Charlie's uncle, if I'm not mistaken he was actually introduced back in season 1 in the episode Charlie gets Molested, but that could just be my memory playing tricks.

Great episode though, even if it couldn't top last week's brilliance. Out of all my Thursday shows, this one is my highlight week after week.

The Dave and Busters sponsorship was a little too much in-your-face for me.

I would agree if not for the excellent writing, and the scene with Dennis trying to explain the Dave and Buster card not working at TGIFriday's to Mac. That was just Rob McElhenney at his comedic best.

So was the Coor's... but hey, if they need to pimp things like D&B and Coors every so often so they get paid and keep making the show, I'm all for it.

"I don't know enough about stars to argue that."

Great episode. Agreed it wasn't as good as last weeks but still hilarious.

Re: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - "The Great Recession" - 10/01/09

I thought the episode was a bit weak by Sunny standards but still pretty funny. The shameless D&B promotion was a bit of a turn off but I guess that's the kind of thing we're going to be seeing more of on TV as people like to DVR shows and skip the commercials.

Dennis and Mac's "understanding" of economics was hilarious. It's a self-sustaining economy!

I agree completely. Product Placement sucks most of the time, but we need to get used to it in the DVR age.

Not to mention that the way they worked it into the show last night was awesome. The "Coors/Closed" angle and the whole D&B marketing ploy with the cards, and that they consider a steak at D&B's to be an amazing steak.

What, is he writing a graded paper here? It's a fucking Always Sunny thread. A show that devotes an entire episode to "who pooped the bed?" needs a thoughtful explanation as to why or why not an episode was liked?

QFT.

I wasn't too big on this episode (better than the season premiere, but not as solid as last week's), but the Dennis and Mac scenes were awesome.

Thought this was a pretty solid episode; it's major problem was that it followed one of the funnier episodes (The Gang Hits the Road) in the show's history.

Also thought they did a pretty good job of working in the D&B stuff during the show (actually reminded me of Arrested Development's BK sponsorship).

I didn't mind the in-your-face D&B promotion. The dialogue for that scene was hilarious.

"You be wheat, I'll be chaff."

and the line to Frank - "Your squeezed out bitch!", I found really funny.

This episode was a little weak for me by sunny standards but still funnier than anything else on tv. I couldn't stop laughing at the sight of Frank swinging back and forth and everyone acting so nonchalant about it.

Phrase is "Seperate wheat from chaff"

Wheat - Staple crop
Chaff - the garbage leftover
