Picked up a bit tonight. Stefan finally got one over Damian. Liking that some in the town know a vamp is back but i didnt quite catch what all the town relics have to do with it.

I liked this episode.
It's getting better - a little darker, more story.
What I would like to see:
There must be more vampires out there; maybe a hierarchy of them - perhaps a clan, or an Order, etc that eventually comes to the town and gets involved.....

The guy at the house couldn't be one of theirs, could he? I assume, as vampires, that they cannot have kids. Then again Damon's amusing story at the beginning - by way of dissing Twilight - insinuated that there is much we do not know. I'm glad they aren't rushing into spilling all of the beans at once.
I like the way they are evolving the Stephen and Bella relationship. I seemed to go into hyper-speed, but they are dialing it back.
I certainly welcomed the twist at the end. It adds another dimension to the show that builds an underlying mythology. If this keeps up the show will be much more than teen angst with a vampire twist. Is this how the book series went (did it finish?), or are they taking creative liberties?
Oh, loved the snarky Damon at the beginning again. Capped with a f-u knife shove to the gut.
