I must admit I thought I really liked sci-fi but in reality it's such a small number of my personal library. There's not many good sci-fi I think, kinda like horror.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc DVD ($28.96), 2-disc DVD ($36.95), and 2-disc Blu-ray ($39.95) releases of District 9 for the 29th December. Extras on the 1-disc DVD will include a director's commentary, a 3-part documentary ("The Alien Agenda: A Filmmaker's Log"), and a Koobus Big Gun feature. The 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray releases will include all that, along with additional featurettes ("Metamorphosis: The Transformation of Wikus", "Innovation: Acting and Improvisation", "Conception and Design: Creating the World of District 9", "Alien Generation: Visual Effects"). Stay tuned for the official artwork.

I got my 2-disc DISTRICT 9 yesterday. Excellent extras and great video/audio quality!

The extras on the first disc run 35 minutes.
The extras on the second disc run 45 minutes.
There are 21 deleted scenes, all somewhat interesting but it was good that they were cut from the film. And there is no other deleted scene alternate version of the death of the mercenary villain.

I havent bought any other 2- disc versions of Hollywood movies this year (just single disc versions of Transformers 2, gi joe, inglorious basterds, for example) but this is one movie really worth buying the 2-disker. Peter Jackson talks a lot in the extras as well.

And the "blow your mind" spelling thing on the dvd cover is fixed.
