Hank -- New Series with Kelsey Grammer -- Debuts 9/30/09

Hank

Synopsis for Pilot

Spoiler:

Kelsey Grammer plays Hank Pryor, a business giant in the sports-retail arena who gets benched in a force-out, and, in the opener, takes his family back home to Virginia to try to rebuild his career and adjust to simply being a father and husband. Tilly Pryor: Melinda McGraw. Maddie Pryor: Jordan Hinson. Henry Pryor: Nathan Gamble. Grady Funk: David Koechner.

So, who's going to try this Sitcom? I assume some of you here are fans of Grammer. I didn't really care for his last show Back to You.

Back to You wasn't great. This looks about the same.

I'll give it a shot though.

For Grammer's sake I hope this show is decent, but I don't have the utmost confidence in modern-day sitcoms.

Saw a screener DVD of this a few weeks back.

Don't waste your time. It is unbelievably awful.

We'll give it a shot, since the wife and I are big Grammer fans. But, I have a feeling it will be just like waching "Back to You"...ie: Frasier doing something else. I just see Frasier Crane every time I see his face.

Painfully awful. The "laugh" track makes it 10x worse.

Re: Hank -- New Series with Kelsey Grammer -- Debuts 9/30/09

Are those the same kids in the first post that were in the show? It was okay. The bit with Hank and his wife in bed was the only laugh out loud scene.

The children are annoying - especially that boy. The Yoda voice/sentences is seriously played out.

I'll give it future shots because of Grammer, but I may have to go back to my Frasier dvds. I gave up on Back to You because I absolutely cannot stand Patricia Heaton. So that was a no go and glad it went off the air.

I made it 10 minutes. I hate/despise/loath a laugh track. This one for whatever reason made it worse. Poor Kelsey.

I made it 15 mins, and the laugh track was 75 % of the reason why. Hank is going to TANK

I watched it. I agree with conscience the bed scene with the wife was the only part I found funny.

Re: Hank -- New Series with Kelsey Grammer -- Debuts 9/30/09

So, apparently they recast the children in the series. And, due to this fact, I sincerely hope that this show gets cancelled. Not merely because it is poorly written, or because Grammer appears to be straining himself to humorous. No, those reasons are not enough themselves.

I hope it gets cancelled because otherwise, I fear Zoe may truly be gone from Eureka.

But yes; a truly poor premiere.

Wow, this was terrible. Absolutely terrible. Agree with everyone else that the laugh track made it significantly worse (although I think it would still have been pretty bad without it).

Re: Hank -- New Series with Kelsey Grammer -- Debuts 9/30/09

The name of the show alone doesn't make it sound like it has lasting appeal. I give it a month or two before the plug is yanked.

I wish Grammer could find a better outlet.

Pretty stale. And I was one of the few who liked Back To You.

The wife and I only lasted 10 minutes before we stopped and promptly deleted it. Terrible, terrible show.

I saw a commercial and thought that it was awful.

Just came here to confirm that reading all the comments.

I had heard really bad things prior to its airing. I figured I would see what people's feedback was before taking on a new show (I have enough to watch). Sounds like I didn't miss anything.

Does Kelsey Grammar have significant gambling debts or something? Maybe he had a severe brain injury? The man can't pick scripts to save his life.

Thank you! That's twice in one week now where I was watching a new show bugged about where I had seen a particular actress before. Of course, Eureka.

As for Mr. Grammer -- looks like another another epic fail. This show is just awful.

I watched for about 10 minutes - hit the stop button and scrolled down to DELETE.

Laugh track
And who cares about an out of work ex-CEO of a large firm?
-- ohhh he never saw his kids so he does not know how to interact with them
---- ohhh he wants to run his family like a board room
---- ohhh he calls for his servants, but wait he does not have any - he has to do it himself

Comedy Gold I tell you
