DVD Talk review of 'The Wizard of Oz' (Blu-ray)
I read Adam Tyner's DVD review of The Wizard of Oz at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=39772 and having pretty much been "over Ozed" as a child watching it year after year on TV, I have yet to see any of the digital restorations, though if I do, this one sounds like the one. Question: I had read that on earlier clean-ups, the picture quality was so enhanced you could actually see things like the wires on the flying monkeys! True??

I've read that there was some wire removal with this remaster. Warner digitally removed wires that they felt wouldn't have been seen during the original theatrical exhibitions, but they kept wires that they believed would've been visible from the beginning. I have to admit that no wires leapt out at me either way on this Blu-ray disc, but I wasn't keeping an eye out. The image is so clear and detailed that I wouldn't be surprised if you could, though!

The money actually goes in Warner's coffers. MGM no longer owns The Wizard of Oz.
