Re: Dexter *Season Premiere* - "Living the Dream" - 9/27/09

Looking forward to another season of Dexter's exploits. I have Showtime free for the next 3 months, but will probably hang on to it longer until the season is over.

Just finished the DVD for season 3 last week and I'm ready to go.

This and Californication are the only things worth watching on Showtime.

Curious, how many of you here watch Dexter, but don't have Showtime and will wait until the DVD release in 2010?

I caught the premiere a few weeks ago as it was available on the net. Good episode and things can get interesting.

Great to have Dexter back.

The writers mined the "Dexter as new dad" development rather well.

agreed.

Dexter is awesome, and one of the only shows that seems to get better as it goes along. Watched the first episode weeks ago, can't wait for the 2nd.

I've put off watching the version available on the net, so I could watch it in proper HD..

One of my favorite shows, glad it's back!

Just finished the previous season on demand on Friday (just got busy and didn't end up finishing it until the past week or so). Very excited for the new season.

I just got cable at the beginning of the summer and ordered Showtime with it for Big Brother After Dark, since that was a major bust this year. I haven't watch any of the previous seasons on dvd. I have held on to Showtime to give this and Californication a try, I hope its worth it.

So your watching Dexter for the 1st time? The show is heavily serialized each season, but each season has a new serial killer story arc, so you might be able to follow it okay.

Other than the Harry stuff there's nothing that really carries over season to season.

I wouldn't say that. There are many references to major plots of the previous seasons - they crop up in many episodes.

I watched it already and it's good. It's nice to see at least one show I like actually start off on a good note. Everything else I watch has sucked for the most part with few exceptions.

Like anything else, you'll get the most enjoyment out of it if you're familiar with the characters and "the big picture." That said, each season is a complete story in its own; there have never been any major "To be continued..." cliffhangers between seasons.

Re: Dexter *Season Premiere* - "Living the Dream" - 9/27/09

Watched this a few weeks back already online. It was a very good start to the new season for sure. This season seems like it has a lot of potential to be very interesting and maybe the best yet.

I'm currently getting 3 free months of Showtime thanks to DirectTV so I'll be watching the episodes as they air. Ordinarily, I'd be waiting for the dvds to hit.

As for tonight's episode, it was pretty solid. Seems like this is going to be a very interesting season to say the least.

Re: Dexter *Season Premiere* - "Living the Dream" - 9/27/09

I liked how
Spoiler:
we got to see the Trinity Killer "at work" rather than being kept in the dark about the character.

Also curious as to how the ending of this episode will be played out next week;
Spoiler:
Dexter probably didn't hop on his boat to get rid of the body before going to the pharmacy, so it'll be fun to see how he covers this one up. I'll assume he doesn't get caught with a bag of body parts right off the bat this season, but it'll still be good!

Solid season premiere tonight -- Lithgow was a great addition this season (I recently re-watched Ricochet and forgot how good of a bad guy he can really be).

It was pretty good. Lithgow looks like he could be a really good villian. Prado was good, but I still think the Ice Truck Killer is the best bad guy on the show so far, and season one is the best season imo.

I fear too much nude Lithgow this season.

I actually like the show enough that I decided to subscribe to Showtime just to see this show actually. I'll probably wind up canceling it though after it wraps up. Not too interested in many of the other Showtime series and they don't seem to play very many movies I'm interested in.

awesome premiere. only thing i hated was how they so quickly wrote off the relationship between Angel and that other cop and quickly jumped into the one w/ him and LaGuerta

How does he compare to Earl Talbot Blake?

It'd be hilarious if him and Dexter tape phone books to their chests as armor and have a spear fight.

I didn't like how much of dick the cop was to Dexter or how his case went. Dexter otherwise has a really good record as a blood splatter expert. He's probably one of the best in the country. I'm sure records get mixed up occasionally, and I'm sure Dexter heard them mention the defendant's name. The writing kind of bothered me.
