If that is true then I might reconsider wanting to pick this up. The game looks awesome but I am not at all for frustrating games.

Yeah, I've read a lot about this title as well, as I was considering getting it before. It is definitely a tough, tough, unforgiving game.

I've been interested in this since I heard about it back in late July on a Gamers with jobs podcast. The Asian version had English text, and voice acting so there are quite a few reviews around the net of the Asian version. I have the deluxe edition pre-ordered figuring the 160 page guide might be somewhat helpful.

Going back and forth on whether or not to pick this up now.
Is there any information out there about the deluxe edition and if it is at all limited?
I typically pay for my games by selling off all the extras, but I'm afraid that if the game is really hard then the game is going to flood ebay by defeated gamers.

I've had the import for a few weeks and have put in over 25 hours so far. I can answer any questions about the game if there are any. Amazing game but super hard.

Gamespot and Edge have both given it a 9. These sites have been known to score PS3 games on the low side so this game must really be amazing.

Just got my collector's edition from Amazon and the slipcover on it is pretty sweet looking. It's embossed with raised art and lettering. Also the artbook and soundtrack cd are designed well with the cd residing inside a sleeve in the artbook.

Picked up my copy from Fry's, deluxe edition, though they had plenty of both. Sale is 10 bucks off.

This has gone from a must buy to maybe for me. Too many reviews mention the brutal difficulty. I don't mind a good challenge, but I hate having to repeat sections over and over especially if it means I lose hours of progress. I hated Tales of Vesperia for this very reason.
It is a ridiculous outdated design concept. It's sad that developers artificially make these games so difficult that most players will never get to the end of the game.

Looks good, but too difficult and frustrating. Not to mention, I'm still getting through ODST and I got Uncharted2 and Brutal Legend coming in just a few days, so, pass. Bad timing - may I'll have time when the game drops to $20, although for PS3 exclusives, that could take a long time.

The hardest part of the game is the first level because you're not able to level up at all until you finish it. After that, it gets better but you'll still die a lot. It makes you play the game well. Even at a very high level, weaker enemies can take you out with a few hits if you're careless or too cocky. The upside is that, once you know your way around, levels aren't very long. If you die, it doesn't take long to get back to where you were.
One of the coolest features is being able to invade another players "world" and hunt them. I haven't had a chance to do it yet but I have been invaded a few times.

Given that all the enemies are at fixed locations, I don't think it's the difficulty that is daunting so much as the repetition is part of the game. I'm still in the first level, but I've enjoyed it so far.
