I've been waiting for this show to come back all summer. The cast make this one worth watching - some of the stories should be dark, but end up delivering laugh out loud moments beyond anything I've seen in a sitcom.

Jane is a great character. Charming and funny, yet he has a tragic past.
The cast does have good chemistry.

Solid premiere episode.
Simon Baker was in top form. The opening scene where Jane guided the Politician's wife to the murder weapon was great.
The case itself was pretty standard, but all the characters interactions were great.
It will be interesting to see how the Red John storyline plays out with Terry Kinney's character running it (at least temporarily)

Did anyone catch what Jane said at the end? I assume it's something about undermining Terry Kinney's character but I didn't hear what it was. TIA.

You mean when he was on the phone? He was calling someone, presumably the CBI's IT department, pretending to be Bosco wanting to change some password.
Didn't care for this episode too much. Jane's charm usually makes up for him being a jerk, but he was mostly jerk this go around. The case was just blah and predictable.
EDIT: The Bosco character is a bit on the nose too. I got a whiff of Tritter from House off him.
