So You Think You Can Dance Audition Thread (Fall 2009)
So You Think You Can Dance Audition Thread
Here is the schedule:
Auditions:
Wednesday, Sept. 9 (8-9 p.m.), audition episode
Wednesday, Sept. 16 (8-9 p.m.), audition episode
Wednesday, Sept. 23 (8-9 p.m.), audition episode
Tuesday, Sept. 29 (9-10 p.m.), audition episode
Wednesday, Sept. 30 (8-9 p.m.), audition episode
Tuesday, Oct. 6 (9-10 p.m.), audition episode
Then the Las Vegas rounds:
Wednesday, Oct, 7 (8-9 p.m.), Las Vegas round
Wednesday, Oct. 14 (8-9 p.m.), Las Vegas round
Wednesday, Oct. 21 (8-9 p.m.), Las Vegas round, Top 20 chosen
This is of course the first time that the show has aired in the fall rather than the summer. They don’t know whether there will be a summer show next year or if they will stick with a fall schedule. Another change this year is that in order for the show to be over before Christmas, the show will have six finalists rather than four. I wish they had just combined two of the auditions instead of cutting a show off of the end but they didn't ask me.
Nigel Lythgow: "I know that in our finale we're going to be going with three couples -- six people, three boys and three girls," he explained. "I didn't want to start with a Top 18 or a Top 16. It doesn't make any sense to me. So I thought it would be fun to have six battle it out in the finale."

Six in the finale?
Let's see how it works.
I'm just glad that we are getting consecutive weeks (except over Thanksgiving, unless they tape it).

Third audition tonight. I missed the first two but I'm guessing that I didn't miss too much. I'll watch tonight's show though.

For the first time in my life, I'm excited by Krump. That guy was the highlight of the episode, IMO and is the first contestant that I'm really excited to see move on.

The Boston audition was pretty good and I really appreciate that they are spending most of the show on the good dancers, not the bad ones.
That tall guy had some really good footwork, reminded me of that tall scrawny kid from the Road Trip movie a few years back. Other than him, the ones that really stand out are the blond 18 year old (the ice cream server) and the married salsa dancers.
Should be an interesting season!

Didn't really like the married couple, couldn't believe they got a ticket to Vegas (but I guess they didn't need the choreography section since they performed a dance together already).
Can't wait for the ATL auditions.

Last night's ATL auditions were nothing spectacular.
Here's hoping the Big Easy delivers tonight... oh, and no Nigel!?
Instead we get Adam, Mary... and c!

Only one more audition round left, thankfully. I can't wait to get to the Vegas rounds.
Has anybody seen the Asian guy who danced for the Miami Ballet who was in last season - got cut only because the Miami ballet wouldn't let him out of his contract - come back? He may still be under contract I guess.

It's after 3 here on the east coast and I have to say: I'm SHOCKED that no one posted about this earlier.
If you click on the link in the link it takes you to a site that shows another picture.. very close up. And if she was wearing panties .. then I must be blind.

^^ Those are very blurry shots (and I'm sure they're blurry on purpose so they can keep the controversy going). You can only see shadows.
I stepped through it frame-by-frame in hidef and trust me, she has flesh-coloured panties on.

Does anyone know the name of the song/artist that was playing during the "Mary's Rules" segment?

Anyone else annoyed by the cutaways to an applauding audience when it was obvious that the performer was dancing in a near-empty auditorium? The worst: Guy performs his routine, then we cut to raucous applause from audience...which includes THE GUY THAT JUST PERFORMED.
Either lazy editing or producers who think we're too dumb to notice.

The New Orleans auditions were really good, lots of good prospects. I suspect that Salt Lake City will be the same next Wednesday.
Next Thursday is the the first of three Vegas Auditions shows.

For future reference, this page is great for finding the music used in the show:
http://www.fox.com/dance/recaps/season6/
Just pick the episode and click the 'Song & Performance' tab and it lists all the songs and artists, and even describes what segment they were used in.
