Be The Producer Game: Labor Day Weekend Group(Please Vote!!)

Some of your fellow board members have come up with ideas for movies. You have Labor Day Weekend to watch up to 3 of the following movies. Please vote for the ones you would be likely watch.

Movie #1

Producer: The Bus
Franchises: Indiana Jones and The Pirates of the Caribbean
Directed By: James Cameron
Starring: Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Harrison Ford
Supporting: Natalie Portman, Keira Knightley, Scarlet Johansson
Cameo: Barack Obama
Screenwriter: Lawrence Kasdan
Flex Writer: Jackson Publick
Score: John Williams
Summary: Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford), cursed by zombie god Ponce de Leon (Brad Pitt), travels back in time where he meets Capt. Jack Sparrow who is in search for the Fountain of Youth. Rated R for gratutitous female nudity.

Movie #2

Producer: Michael Corvin
Franchises: Leon and The Expendables
Directed By: Christopher Nolan
Starring: Sylvester Stallone, Clint Eastwood, Jean Reno
Supporting: Naomi Watts, Delroy Lindo, Guy Pearce
Cameo: Frank Stallone
Screenwriter: Christopher Nolan
Score: Don Davis
Punch Up Writer: Jonathan Nolan
Summary: Sylvester Stallone is set to star in "The Expendables: Origins" for Warner Bros. Pictures. Christopher Nolan turns in his Batwings for a crack at the origin story. Screenplay by brother Jonathan Nolan with final touches by Christopher himself. The team that brought you The Dark Knight, will also be showing the origins of Léon and his beginnings as part of Sly's crew and what made him go independant.

Stallone, will be joined onscreen by Clint Eastwood, and Jean Reno, who will be reprising his Léon role. Guy Pearce is in final negotiations for the main villain role in the film.

The script is under tight lockdown but if previous successes are any indication, we could be looking at an amazing film for next August. Luc Besson has given Nolan his blessing and was reportedly amazed at an early draft of the script on how well crafted Léon's origins became in the hands of the brothers Nolan.

Producers are Sylvester Stallone, Christopher Nolan and Michael Corvin.

Movie #3

Producer: Suprmallet
Franchises: The Muppets and Sherlock Holmes
Directed By: Alfred Hitchcock
Starring: Nicholas Cage, Sir Alec Guinness, David Bowie
Supporting: Jim Henson, Simon Pegg, Frank Oz(Voice)
Cameo: Johnny Depp
Screenwriter: John Cleese
Score: Bernard Hermann
New Song: David Bowie
Summary: N/A

Movie #4

Producer: Fist of Doom
Franchises: Death Wish and Beverly Hills Cop
Directed By: Walter Hill
Starring: Yaphet Kotto, Eddie Murphy, Charles Bronson
Supporting: Pam Grier, Jill Clayburgh, Bill Duke
Cameo: Geraldo Rivera
Screenwriter: Paul Schrader
Score: Vangelis
New Song: Deep Purple
Summary: Paul Kersey (Charles Bronson) and his wife Julia (Jill Clayburgh) want to get out of crime-ridden L.A. So they move to Detroit, where Julia is promptly raped and thrown down an elevator shaft. Turns out the killers are policemen, and Kersey takes brutal revenge. Soon after, a shadowy figure starts killing cops.

A wisecracking police rookie, Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy) wants to make a name for himself by catching the cop-killer. His hardass partner, Jackson (Bill Duke), tells Foley not to dig too deep, but won't say why. Foley's investigation leads him to the Police Chief, Durham (Yaphet Kotto), who has turned half the Detroit police force into his own personal mafia.

Meanwhile, Kersey meets a woman (Pam Grier) who says her husband was murdered and they start a romance. She introduces him to Axel Foley. Kersey and Foley form an uneasy partnership to take down Chief Durham's corrupt regime and clean up Detroit, resulting in a bloody showdown in the Pontiac Silverdome.

If any of the contestants would like to add summaries, PM them to me and I'll add to this post.

The poll will be open for 6 days, so take your time. All the "producers" will have the option to promote their movies within this thread. So give it a read through before making your final decision.

The script was "punched up" by Venture Bros creator Jackson Publick!

I'll vote when the producers get off their asses and submit summaries.

Is it possible they don't even know this thread exists yet?

I'll PM everyone...

I put a summary in Post#6 (though I didn't get off my ass to do it).

I know, I read yours but I can't be an uninformed voter! I did PM Corvin and Suprmallet, though.

Suprmallet won't be around for a little while, so we are unlikely to get a summary from him. If anyone would like to write one for him feel free.

Sorry guys, after the game started I ended up having to move really quickly, and I'm still in the process. I'm around and posting, but putting together a summary and making marketing materials is a bit much right now. If someone wants to take those elements and make something out of it, go for it. You can even collaborate on them, make it the ultimate DVD Talk draft film!

I only went with The Bus here. I might have voted for Supermallet, but I don't know what his movie is even about.

Suprmallet's summary:

It's a Muppet movie based on the Sherlock Holmes stories. This isn't rocket science, people!

Honestly, the only idea I had was that Nicolas Cage would play Animal, Alec Guinness would play Holmes, Simon Pegg would be Watson, and Bowie would be Moriarty and provide an original, awesome song. Had no idea what the plot would be, although I could see it being a Hound of the Baskervilles thing with Rowlf being framed for the murders. The Muppets would team up with Holmes to help discover the real killer, and Moriarty would be pulling the strings from the shadows. I can envision some joking going on with Gonzo also trying to be a world famous detective, but come to all the wrong conclusions, which just annoys Holmes. Fozzie and Watson would bond as sidekick characters. Or something like that. Frank Oz and Jim Henson would voice the Muppets, obviously.

And Guy Ritchie wouldn't be allowed within 300 feet of the project.

So, Cage would be pulling the strings of Animal? Or would he dress up as Animal?

He would dress up as Animal. Think of the bear suit scene from The Wicker Man remake.

Fist of Doom's sounds like it has the makings of a bad-ass exploitation flick. My pick.
