Not sure if this is really worth a thread, but then, I just got a pizza for $10 that would have been $35 at regular menu price.

I imagine that these deals are regional throughout the country, but I can only speak for this region.

Every day after a Redskins game, Papa Johns offer a large cheese pizza for $9.99. A slight deal, but they throw in a free topping for every touchdown the Redskins score, and double those if the Redskins win. So a really good deal a few times a year when the Redskins actually score and win.

Other times of the year they have the deal with the Washington Capitals, offering a free topping for every goal.

New, I believe, is a Tuesday deal with the closest college football team, the Maryland Terrapins. The Terps won and scored 5 touchdowns, so a ten topping large pizza is $10 today.

It better be the best pizza I've ever had and Papa John's doesn't deliver in that category.

Just to anger you Drew Pearson!

And no, I wasn't trying to imply that anyone would order a $35 pizza from Papa Johns. Just stating that the menu price would be about that. I'm sure most would order one of their deals or use a coupon, or the cashier would work a supreme with extra toppings to make it cheaper for you, but technically you could pay that much if you tried.

And fwiw, the pizza was excellent the last four meals, with one left over for tonight.

Since the discount is based on winning games and scoring touchdowns, I doubt we'll see any deals in St Louis.

They have a limit for online ordering of 7 toppings on this deal. The Eagles scored 5 tds and won so it would have 10, but said you needed to call your local restaurant to see if they would go that high. Still a good deal. This gives me reason to root for the eagles.

^ I've done this deal a few times over the years and when I call they never limit me to 7 toppings. YMMV of course. I'm sort of glad I don't live in an area with better local teams. I doubt I'll be tempted by this more than a couple more times a year.

I hear ya Doc. I'm in KC and a Chiefs fan. I guess between KC and STL, Missouri will be heathier and thinner for it....

Another reason not to live in Detroit.
