Does anyone notice that there has not been good DD sales recently. I remember that around this season last year that they had some good (including B1G1) sales in August and September.

Wonder why.

maybe because they usually have a really great sale twice a year?

^^^^ do NOT qualify.

I think that it is a legitimate question:

Where are the good DD sales?

Last year they had quite a few "Buy One Get One Free" sales. A&E, Criterion, and I finished out my Twilight Zone collection during a BOGO around this time last year. Picked up the TZ sets for around $20 each, as well as quite a few Criterions for around $15.

Really hoping for another A&E BOGO (after Nov 15) so I can pick up the Farscape Megaset.

I cant even imagine what they are selling. Amazon is usually much cheaper on New Releases. I havent found anything to buy from them since June. They have some really crappy promotions currently going on

I picked up a boxset and 3 dvds from dark sky films with 2 t shirts thrown in at a pretty good price recently. Then again you have to kind of appreciate cult/horror to really get that sale though.

Well, they did have their big summer sale later than usual this year. If they stick to November for the next one, that's probably closer together than their big sales have ever been so patience may be rewarded! It's already October, for all intents and purposes.

Of course, I say this having not patronized them much this year, instead blowing lots of cash at Barnes and Noble's astounding Criterion sale that was going on at the same time.

Maybe it just depends on what you are looking for. I just picked up the Rat Patrol collection for under $23 while according to a search it is going for $35+ most other places.

^But that's a drop in the bucket compared to what usually goes on at DD. While there *are* a *few* good prices on a very few titles the sales to which we've grown accustomed are mia.

Although DD does have the best price on a variety of titles, those are everyday prices for the site. The sales they used to have, temporary and large price reductions, have pretty much gone away. By contrast, Amazon has been having a lot of great sales recently where the price of a title is significantly reduced. It's kind of too bad because I do like DD much better than Amazon but I'm a bargain hunter and I generally gear towards the items my wishlist that are significantly on sale and not just those that are offered at their standard price on a given site.
