Anything by Tony Jaa...I did like the stunts in it but...that's it. He has no charisma for the genre he's in. Also...he treads on the most basic and slimmest plots
which was followed by an even worse film and horrid horrid fight scene using...his elephant's bones strapped to his arms.....UGHHHHH aka THE PROTECTOR!
I don't doubt his physical talent..but...he's a one note kind of guy. His fight scenes are cool to watch while a few of them are very very horrid in the cheap kind of way. I will never want him to make an American film cuz even his voice is annoying. If I can't stand him in Thai how the fuck can I stand him in his attempt to speak English? I love the Martial Arts action genre but he's still got a lot to grow before he becomes the wunderkind that the advertisements label him as. Put him a plot that makes sense or DOESN'T crap over your level of disbelief and yeah.....I can take him seriously. Now..Ong Bak 2 comes out..so...hopefully the plot used (which I'm oddly enough content with) doesn't have to do with Jaa having to get something back.

I usually don't go to the theater on a whim, but a friend wanted to see it and I liked the first one.
Time and money I'll never get back.

Ok, I don't really think these are bad movies. I just wanted to join in what will be the norm for these types of threads. Some spud posting an extremely popular or critically acclaimed movies and claiming they are bad in order it elicit responses and give his nerd parts a tingle by creating controversy.

I didn't like The beach at first, but it grew on me in repeat viewings. My favorite bad movies are both Duece Bigelow movies. I hope Rob Schneider will make Duece Bigelow 3.
I know a lot of people who hate Dane Cook, but My Best Friends Girl was a very funny film.

They aren't bad, but they are overrated. The Dark Knight just does not have rewatchability and the same enjoyment level like Iron Man, for example. And I always thought Citizen Kane, while a decent flick, was far overrated.

I actually completely agree with you. I greatly prefer "Begins" and have no desire to see Kane again.

Have you KANE naysayers ever seen it on the big screen?
Where it was...y'know...meant to be seen?
I didn't think so.
(I don't know what Turner or whoever owns it now is planning for the upcoming 70th anniversary in 2011 or 75th in 2016, but you may get your chance.)

I agree. I remember that five minute shot in The Protector. It was really cool. And lots of the martial arts are neat. But the movies just aren't good. Manipulate me or whatever - I don't care. But you have to have some sort of stupid story or something to make me cry a little. Or you have to add some visceral shots or something. Otherwise, it's just marketing to the WFC croud.
I'll add Shrek. Didn't like it when I was sixteen. Dont' like it now. Everything is dated and stupid. And most of it was dated when the movie came out. It's kind of like hearing Leno STILL making those OJ and Lewinsky jokes. Only Leno is still kind of funny because he can look off-stage and blame the producers/writers - and that's the funny part. And that Smash Mouth song was, like, three years behind.

I don't argue that it was innovative and a technical marvel, it's just that I don't have much desire to see it again. Three times is enough and I doubt the big screen would make it interesting enough for me.

Re: Post Bad Movies.
I thought this was a thread for "bad" movies. Movies that are just badly made, or totally unwatchable, or the worst kind of movies ever, bad comedies.
