Leverage -- Summer Finale -- "The Lost Heir Job" -- 9/9/09

Leverage

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

The con is on when Nate's justice league targets a shady lawyer who's out to wrest control of his client's estate. Parker moves to the forefront of the scheme, masquerading as a long-lost daughter.

This is the final episode of the summer. Will return most likely in 2010. Jeri Ryan is guest starring and filling in for a few episodes while Gina Bellman is out on maternity leave.

So for the few who have been watching, how did you like the 1st half of the season? I thought it was 50/50. 4 really good episodes and 4 so-so.

So? Did anyone watch or is this sitting in your DVR's still? I noticed there is 80 hits on this thread but noone has anything to say? C'Mon guys, this is probably one of the best action-caper shows.

Anyways, great summer finale. Probably one of the best episodes of the season.

Loved Nate's Jimmmy Papadakalis character and I really liked the introduction of Jeri Ryan's Tara. I think TNT blew an opportunity to surprise the audience by announcing early on that she was being casted as a Grifter like Sophie.

The scene where Hardison bumped into the shady lawyer and planted the keys and gun in his suitcase was fricking hysterical!!

I also loved the scene where Tara and Nate were trying to get the info from that conman and he was laughing his ass off at them.

Elliot and Hardison planting the weapon and white surpremicist materials was great.

The 1st half of this season was a little inconsistent, but overall I enjoyed it. I thought maybe 5 of the 9 episodes were solid, which included this one.

I think it's actually good the show is taking a break until January when the competition is less.

I like the show a lot however it is a little eary to start introducing new characters unless the gal that plays Sophie is actually leaving the show.

I do not like the idea of adding to the team at all.

Gina Bellman is not leaving the show. She announced in July that she was taking a leave of absence due to her pregnancy so that's why they casted Jeri Ryan (Tara) as a fill-in for her. At least she gave the writers enough notice so they could write something to explain her absence.

Well, I'm looking forward to it's return in Janaury.

BTW, I did like the last scene where Tara said, "Here's my Invoice."

I think the show is starting to lose some steam - there have been some good episodes with the humor of Season 1, but there have been some real spotty episodes.

The capers also seem to be much more of a reach this season. I know they're not looking for absolute realism but the courtroom stuff in this episode was just ridiculous.

According to this article, Jeri Ryan's character Tara will appear in the last 6 episodes of the season.

I can't wait for it to return either however cast additions always present a problem for me.

I agree that some episodes were hit or miss this season but generally I enjoyed them.

great episode, good to hear Gina Bellman isn't leaving permanently. Quite happy with Jeri Ryan as a fill in

Good finale, also happy to hear GB isn't leaving. I agree with most, the season was uneven, but still entertaining, with "The Two Live Crew Job" being my favorite episode.
