Recent UK purchases question (from 101cd.com)
I recently purchases the following from 101cd.com:
Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, The Prophecy, The Prophecy II, Hellraiser: Bloodline, and Halloween H20.
I have purchased from 101cd.com before, and I probably have around 30-40 UK titles in my collection, so I'm not a novice to purchasing international.
However, it's been a while, and the thing that struck me odd was that:
1. None of the DVDs had any security stickers (is this a US thing?)
2. The cover/side art for Halloween 6 says "Halloween: The Curse of Michael" instead of "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers." This seems like a major f-up if this was really the way it was printed. The cover art for this UPC in DVD Profiler does NOT match what I have.
3. None of the DVDs had inserts. Once again I'm having a hard time remembering if my other R2 purchases typically had inserts or not.
Any insight into this would be appreciated.

Re: Recent UK purchases question (from 101cd.com)
The white security sticker is definitely a US thing - outside of North America I don't recall them being used anywhere, or anything similar (although I don't claim to have bought from every country!).
Can't comment on the Halloween 6 thing but inserts seem to becoming a thing of the past generally - certainly I get very few European DVDs and Blu-rays anymore with "proper" inserts (mostly just advertising flyers at best).

Re: Recent UK purchases question (from 101cd.com)
It would be very very rare to get inserts in Region 2 dvds (i'm in region 2 land) and the security sticker is very much a North American thing, and has caused me some embarrassment when they've beeped in record stores here in Ireland (i get my orders sent to work).
Names of films change between the US and the rest of the world and vice versa so that film could well be known in the UK as the curse of Michael.

Thanks for the info. As for the name change - as I mentioned in my original post, the cover art in DVD Profiler (same UPC) has the name correct, where as the copy I have is incorrect. The cover art is actually almost identical except the "The Curse of Michael" is in a bit of a different font and some of the logos and DVD information is laid out a bit differently.

It's certainly odd. Both 101cd and Amazon UK show the same DVD cover with "Meyers" clearly visible. Is there any non-English writing on the package>

Re: Recent UK purchases question (from 101cd.com)
The main difference (besides the lack of "Myers") is that my version has a Blue Octagon logo with "18" in the middle and around the edge it says "Film Censor's Office" and "Ofig Scrudoir Na Scanman" That logo is not on the version I see in DVD Profiler. The red, circular "18" logo is there on both..

I don't have my scanner hooked up, otherwise I would post a scan.

Re: Recent UK purchases question (from 101cd.com)
Recently, most DVDs and BDS from the UK require to have the UK rating and the blue Ireland rating on the covers, and also on the spine. Likely, Halloween 6 was repressed with the new rating logo. Maybe because of that extra rating taking space, they erased "Meyers" from the spine by mistake....
good job Anchor Bay, huh?
