Question about Lost Season 5 Finale (spoilers!)
I haven't watched the finale since May, but something has been troubling me since I have begun to rewatch the series in preparation for Season 6. It may have been rationalized in the episode, but why do "the others" help Jack and co. detonate the bomb? It would seem like those that inhabit the island should be more skeptical to an idea such as this. Again, there may be a clear explanation that I can't remember. Thanks!

A major factor was that Eloise Hawking, who holds a position of authority among The Others, had just killed her own son from the future.

1.) Her son doesn't die. (She assumes Jack is correct and that they can change things)
2.) Sayid mentions that she knows the bomb could wipe out Dharma, or at least a good number of them.
