I am about 200 pages into the first book - The Way of Shadows - and I am really enjoying it so far. It reminds me of the Martin Clash of Kings series in that it is a gritty fantasy world and appears to be low magic. I can't guarantee the series maintains its momentum but so far it has been a page turner. It also looks like it is at least a trilogy.
Obviously the series focuses on an assassin (wetboy) and that whole shadowy culture.
