I don't see a late-night cable show like this lasting long. Lopez is a pretty funny guy but if he goes up against Leno or Conan I won't be watching.

Really? I find him to be just about the least funny 'comedian' out there. He ranks with Richard Lewis in my book, both of whom are only slightly funnier than C-SPAN.

Lopez is actually funny at times, his sitcom aside. Not sure I'd want to watch him every night though, seems like a bit much.

I used to love his sitcom when it first premiered on Nick-at-Nite, but after a while his 'isms' really started to bother me. I avoid it at all costs now. I haven't really experienced him outside of the show and I am hoping that he was playing a character and not being his true self.

His standup is very removed from his sitcom. A lot of the crazy family stories are present in the standup but it's a more adult presentation, which also allows some more comedic but "too edgy for sitcom" stories to be told.

His wife was smokin' hot, the daughter and niece...not so much.

I think the only overly funny stuff on the show usually involved his father in law, who was the most interesting character on the show.

This. Like him or dislike him, this won't last long. The only way I see a cable talk show lasting is if they get a big name host. George Lopez isn't that guy. But knowing TBS, once Lopez fails they'll put Bill Engvall in his spot and keep him there for years.
