I'd prefer to buy a matched set with a sub........can it be done?

Someone told me to look at Paradigm's, another person told me JBL's, and someone else told me Energy Take 5's. Still someone else said "Get a nOrh setup!!" which are really cool...but...more than $700 bucks http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif

Anyone suggestions AND maybe merchants that offer packages?

For $700 you can get the Energy Take 5 with a 10" sub (eXL:S10) as someone already mentioned to you. I have this setup and am very pleased at it's performace at this price level.

Give Marc at Audioshop a call for an unbelieveable deal. I got the above plus a pair of stands and wall mounts for $780 to my door.

I'd look and listen to them all and see what you think. Most people swear by the Energy system, but you might find you have a preference for something else.

If some one in your are has them check out a sub, sat. system called Apollo by Jamo. Sound great with music and movies. There are two apollo packages one called apollo and the other is apollo 3 found them here http://www.sounddistributors.com both were under $700.

I've recently put together a system of PSB Alphas. You can get the Alpha A/Vs, which are audiophile quality speakers, as front speakers for around $200 a pair, and either get two more A/Vs for the rear or get smaller ones (Midi or Mite) for the rear. They have two different center channels to choose from, and a series of subs. They are a canadian company (like paradigm and energy). they are generally only available in audio shops, but a couple of authorized dealers sell them on-line.

These are wonderful speakers to listen too. They have also been recently reviewed in stereophile (in two of the last 3 or 4 issues) and home theater magazine

Go to a local audio shop, tell them your price and ask for reccomendations. The brands you mentioned are good, but the ultimate choice is what sounds best to you. Go to www.audioreview.com (http://www.audioreview.com) for consumer reviews of speakers for an idea of how they compare to other brands, just be weary of the one star reviews unless they have a good reason.

Sound and Vision did a review on smaller systems. It compared the Jamo system with three others. You can also check out there review page for other systems reviews.
