This is the exact reason why I love coming to this site - dependability. I'd almost rather not support Newbury Comics any longer because of their "lack of customer appreciation" (your reference to Email club members). But ..I'm a sucker for 30%.

I emailed them to complain last week when they had a 20% coupon on twitter but didn't bother with e-club members. So much for rewarding long-term customers!
Unfortunately, they don't bother to reply to emails anymore it seems. I would suggest that any New Englanders disappointed in this give them a piece of your mind...

And I was pleasant about it. I just don't understand how these exclusive twitter/facebook coupons benefit them. Promotional is one thing but this has been going on for way too long for that.

I would follow them on Twitter but I never go on Twitter.
Last week they had a sale for Facebook members , Today Twitter maybe a coupon for email club members is coming up for the Holiday weekend?

The other side is that Twitter is blocked where I work. Since NC only posts the deals on Thursdays I wouldn't know about it until I got home that night. Little late for me then.

I was anticipating this sale because last Thursday was 30% off vinyls and the Thursday before that was 30% off used CDs. Last time they had a 30% off used DVDs sale was also preceded by vinyls and used CDs. If the pattern holds, next Thursday will be 20% off new CDs.
I stopped by the Newbury Comics on Newbury St. and picked up Casque D'Or: Criterion for a tad under $12. Also went to the Harvard Square location and got Chungking Express: Criterion for $16 and Unbreakable for $5.

As an O/S customer, I once ordered from these guys and the item never arrived. Never had any other O/S parcel go 'missing' except from these guys. i doubt it was ever sent. Luckily, I got them through Amazon market place and got a refund.

No need to go to the Twitter site at work. Just follow them, set email notifications, and get the discounts in your email.

They always have signage up in their stores as well. Worth stopping in on Thursdays to see what the sale is if you don't follow them on Twitter.

Ooops, I'm actually not really positive, I barely use Twitter. I just imagined you could have email notifications since every other social site has various email options.
I'd double check right now but can't remember my Twitter password.
Edit to add: Got in. Looks like I was wrong. I don't see any positives for using Twitter, seems quite silly and limited compared to Facebook.

I don't like to use Twitter, so I just visit the NC Twitter page Thursday morning (10 AMish I think is when they usually post).
And how could they post it anywhere besides Twitter if this is the TWIT sale ;)
Although I do wish the e-mail club would have good coupons again (where are my free pint glasses?!)... although I gues that's what I have Facebook for now :lol: And like I said, all my energy has been wasted on futile complaints to FYE.
I just hope that the album w/autographed booklet that I just pre-ordered from NC arrives!

Its not always that early a few months back it wasn't until 11:30 in the morning that they posted on Twitter about a sale.
Of course if you are near a store just bop in on a Thursday and see what the sale is.

^For a while it seemed like they were doing it around 7... I just wish they'd be more consistent! Then there was that Thursday where Twitter was down in the morning, which completely screwed me up, lol.
I'm still a bit far from an NC (until I move into college in Boston in two weeks! :D) and I would stop by every Thursday, but I don't buy vinyl or comic books, so it'd be pretty hit or miss. But once I'm in the city, all bets are off!
