Jesus Christ Can't Save Us: White Chicks 2
What in the holy fuck is this shit?

I can't believe we would ever be seeing a White Chicks 2. What's next? Is Fox going to start green lighting Friedberg and Seltzer sequels to combat this? Dance Flick was DOA this past May (after sitting on the shelf for nearly half a year) and Sony thinks they're going to make significant coin off this? Did the seven pre-teens who actually enjoyed this desire a need for a sequel?

Rick Alvarez, the Wayans' long-time producing partner, is producing along with Joe Roth, under his Roth Films banner. Roth's Revolution Studios made the first movie, which Sony distributed.

Keenan last directed 2006's "Little Man" while WME-repped Marlon can currently be seen on screens as Ripcord in "G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra."
Sony's Doug Belgrad and Jonathan Kadin are overseeing for the studio.

Meh. Call me jaded or just getting old. But I've lived a very happy life with White Chicks around and never having seen it.
I'm sure I'll continue to live a regularly happy life with WC2 out and happily ignoring it. Do you know how many stories come out in the form of books, comics, radio programs, television shows and films? If the existence of one of them bothers you enough, you're really not keeping busy enough.

Shouldn't this be in the post-apocolyptic movies thread?

It made 70 million, and you are wondering why there is a remake being made? And yes, I liked the first one and will be watching the 2nd one.

In all honesty, I gave the first movie a shot but couldn't sit through the whole thing. It was painfully unfunny. Hopefully one day Keenen Ivory Wayans will prove he has another I'm Gonna Git You Sucka in him.

If this actually gets made, then there will surely be a direct-to-dvd second sequel not starring the original cast, just so that we can all have the WHITE CHICKS TRILOGY.

Hey Matthew, why does it bother you so much that this is getting made? Just don't support it by not buying a ticket. There you go. Your voice was heard.

People need to stop complaining about these movies for 2 reasons:
1. There are other people in this country that get enjoyment out of these kind of movies. If it's not your kind of movie, move on. There will always be something else to watch that you will enjoy. I've never seen White Chicks and I never plan to, but if other people enjoy it, why should I complain about it?
2. When movies turn a profit that means that the studio can go ahead and release other movies that won't make much (if any) profit. If it wasn't for the success of low budget/high box office movies, there are a lot of great movies that wouldn't have gone wider than a dozen theatres in New York and LA.

re: Jesus Christ Can't Save Us: White Chicks 2
The problem with the original WHITE CHICKS is that the Wayans make really ugly girls. To fix this problem for the sequel and to therefore make more money and be a more successful film, they should find two dudes that would really be hot girls, such as Jude Law and Gael García Bernal, and get better writers for the film.
Look how hot they are!!!!
(kidding, they look like Kristen Stewart and Juliette Lewis on a bad day)

I think the argument is that $$$ that goes for a POS movie --> $$$ that was unavailable to fund a GOOD movie.
Your opinion of what defines a POS movie and what defines a GOOD movie is completely subjective. I can pretty much guarantee that I'd rather watch almost ANYTHING than "White Chicks 2"... except for maybe "The Cat in the Hat 2".
