Ostrander is an outstanding comic writer. Got my first taste of him with GrimJack from First Comics a while ago. Apparently he has had an uphill battle with glaucoma for a while now, and the bills are too much. I dont have all the details, but this site does, Comix4Sight (http://comix4sight.com/). So if you would, drop by and check out his story and what the comics industry is doing to help out. I met him yesterday at the Chicago Comicon. What a great guy, and it was awesome to be able to tell him how much I've enjoyed his work over the years. The good news is that they raised a lot of money for him -- much more than they had even hoped for. Which isn't to disuade anyone from donating still more -- whatever is left if/when they pay John's bills is going to go to the Hero Initiative, so one way or another, if you donate, you are helping creators in need.

True that. I met him up there as well. Great guy indeed. Hero Initiative is something that is needed int he comic industry because most of these guys make a living doing freelance stuff ergo no health benefits.
