For a good cause-John Ostrander
Ostrander is an outstanding comic writer. Got my first taste of him with GrimJack from First Comics a while ago. Apparently he has had an uphill battle with glaucoma for a while now, and the bills are too much. I dont have all the details, but this site does, Comix4Sight. So if you would, drop by and check out his story and what the comics industry is doing to help out. While I'm at it I should also pimp out these guys, The Hero Initiative

I met him yesterday at the Chicago Comicon. What a great guy, and it was awesome to be able to tell him how much I've enjoyed his work over the years. The good news is that they raised a lot of money for him -- much more than they had even hoped for. Which isn't to disuade anyone from donating still more -- whatever is left if/when they pay John's bills is going to go to the Hero Initiative, so one way or another, if you donate, you are helping creators in need.

True that. I met him up there as well. Great guy indeed. Hero Initiative is something that is needed int he comic industry because most of these guys make a living doing freelance stuff ergo no health benefits.
