Actors (characters) you missed most after leaving show?
You know how some long-time characters leave a hit show, the show continues, usually as strong, sometimes not as, after their departure, but something might not feel right anymore to you. For whatever reasons they left (moving on, salary dispute, death, etc...).
Which ones have you missed the most?
1. Anthony Edwards/Dr. Greene (ER)...just thought he was such a solid, well-rounded character and his departure scene was one of the more moving in history for me.
2. Rob Lowe/Sam Seaborn (The West Wing)...always loved his character. he brought humor, seriousness, smarts and always hated the way he was treated (or at least from what i know from reports). Joshua Malina, while good, never filled his shoes.
3. McLean Stevenson/Henry Blake (MASH)...he was such a sentimental favorite and the way he left was so shocking and moving.

Sasha Alexander as Kate Todd on NCIS (although Cote de Pablo has done a more than adequate job replacing her)
Ditto on Charlotte Ross on NYPD Blue. Jessalyn Gilsig and Bonnie Sommerville just didn't cut it.

Anyway, nothing really tops the void left by Phil Hartman on NewsRadio and The Simpsons.
Even though it has a constantly rotating cast, SNL gets into a bit of a rut anytime they lose any big favorites from the cast (Chris Farley, Will Ferrell, etc).

Phil Hartman, but I think there's a difference between "leaving" (especially due to reasons like Lloyd and Rhys-Davies) and the tragedy that happened to Hartman.
Nothing else really stands out to me...but i mostly watch animation, which is probably less susceptible to "leaving actor syndrome" than live action.

Not a slight against Woody Harrelson, but Cheers was better with Nicholas Colasanto. His death was a blow to the show.
