I've seen these a lot recently. On Burn Notice Season 2, Dollhouse Season One, etc. The keep case is wrapped in plastic, and then a cardboard version of the cover is glued onto the plastic. What is the deal with these things? It makes no sense whatsoever. It is difficult to get them off the plastic without bending them and where are you supposed to put them once you manage to remove them from the plastic? In front of the cover artwork? Inside the case? I've tried both and they don't fit in either. I don't understand the point. Does anyone have any more information on these stupid covers or why the studios are even bothering to use them?

They seem like they are eco-friendly slipcovers, in that they use less than half the amount of paper (thus probably making them less expensive), but as you've noted there really isn't much of a reason to keep them.

I keep them in the round filing cabinet.

They use that snot-glue stuff to stick them to the plastic, and even though it's on an outside layer of plastic wrap I can see marks where the glue was on the actual case. It's annoying and pointless.

Even worse; my copy of Dollhouse has an long inexplicable mark in the middle of the cover that the cardboard cover was covering up. I was a bit annoyed when I discovered that.

My copy of Dollhouse did too! I wonder what it was from; either way, really disappointing. I wonder if any other copies did as well. Wouldn't surprise me.

'Dollhouse' is particularly annoying because there isn't any insert - not even an episode list (or was that just my copy?). Why would they save the $.02 to print a fairly useful thin paper sheet for the inside but waste the $.04 to print an utterly useless hard cardboard outside cover?

And, yes; the glue damaged the front cover of the BD case on mine too.

I got the DVD, and there actually is a disc-by-disc breakdown, printed on the reverse side of the front and back covers, of what Episodes and Special Features are included on each disc.
