Mine is in the hundreds. At one point I had over a thousand. Currently I probably hover around 300/400, and I'm still thinning that out on eBay little by little.

Sold maybe 20-40, given away 50 or so.
All of these were pretty much doubles, and I don't plan to ever get rid of non-duplicates.
1 - I think I wouldn't mind owning every DVD.
2 - I only pay a couple/few bucks per, so selling (or renting) isn't really worth the hassle.

A few dozen maybe...I mainly keep everything even if it sucks cause I may one day want to pop it in again

I've only gotten rid of a small handful, and that's only because I upgraded to a special edition or something, and gave away the bare bones version. Even if I buy something I end up not liking so much, I'm a pack-rat kind of collector, so once I have something, it's here to stay.

I didn't keep track of the titles...I'd say only about 20-30 or so. Not a lot. Mainly bare bones editions when I got special editions.
There were only a couple movies so bad that I had to get rid of them. One off the top of my head was the US version of Godzilla. There was no way I was ever going to spin that in my DVD player again.

Absolutely ZERO- I keep EVERYTHING! I even kept the Brentwood "All Night Movies" set (with the masterpieces Bikini Med School, Bikini House Calls, Illegal Affairs and Brief Affair) even though I later got the "Toga Party" set which includes 6 more movies I wanted plus EXACT copies of those same movies, same down to the menus and everything! If I had to get rid of one title it would be that one, but you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands! I've got the original crappy Halloween DVD too- I got the much better version that came out in '99, but the old one was one of the first 10 DVDs I ever bought, plus it was Anchor Bay's first-ever DVD. It's got a cool IBM DVD Authoring logo in 5.1 sound at the very end, plus an interesting chapter menu that plays clips of every scene.

5 or so, in the early days where I would sell an original dvd to buy the double dip. Now I keep everything but am anticipating the day when space will force me to prune.

Only a literal handful. I'm pretty cautious with blind buys, and the pittance a used DVD brings isn't compelling.
Everyone once in awhile I get a slight pruning itch when I reach the limit of my storage shelves, but so far I've ended up just adding shelf units. With over 700 movies/seasons now, I'm again reaching a storage limit, and this time I'll have to do more serious rearranging to accomodate more units. Converting to slimcases isn't an appealing option, and probably won't be unless I'm stepping on DVD cases all the time.

Re: How Many DVDs Have You Sold/Gotten Rid Of?
I've sold off/am selling off several of my R1 discs of BBC titles (particularly classic Doctor Who) and have been replacing them with the R2 versions, partially for quality reasons (I intend to buy a big 'ol multi-system TV one day), and also for economic reasons, as the R2 equivalents are sometimes priced peanuts to the R1s. The American wing of the BBC must not believe in much price discounting.
I recently sold off my collection of Red Dwarf sets 1 through 7 and with the proceeds, was able to buy all eight of the R2 sets and still had money left over to buy series one of both Ashes to Ashes and Goodnight Sweetheart.
Also, prices on R2 Doctor Who titles seem to drop by up to 50% (or more) 6-12 months after release, so if you're like me and don't mind waiting, this often makes them cheaper than the R1s (especially the boxsets that collect multiple stories together).

I've purged at least 500 titles at FYE during their brown bag promotion in the last two years. I was able to get a PS3 along with many other items by doing this. The only regret I have is that I bought so many shitty titles to begin with.

Re: How Many DVDs Have You Sold/Gotten Rid Of?
I've maxed out the number of dvds/blurays I own (around 2K), and since I don't have much more shelf space (and adding more would just be too ostentatious looking), for each new disc I buy, I get rid of one. So far, I've dumped a couple hundred - I sell them if I can, but mostly I just give them away to friends/family/library.
