Hi--I was wondering how much the Monitor 9's usually went for. I have heard that they can be found more cheaply in Canada. How much cheaper are they there, with the currency conversion being as great as it is now?

I know someone who picked them up for about
$575 from a licensed dealer.

Also keep in mind the Monitor 7 will cost
less and sound better, IMHO. (Less bloated
bass.)

Listen and compare.

I also think that the Monitor 7's sound better than the 9's, due to the fact that they use the 6.5" driver as opposed to the 9's 8". I went with a pair of Monitor 5's, and two pairs of Mini-Monitors(one pair for L+R surround, one as a center, and one as a rear EX center), all for $1175 CDN with taxes here in Montreal.

I listened to both and opted for the 9's. They don't have too much bass IMHO and they cost $630+tax. I looked all around the NYC area and this was the cheapest I could find.

I like the sound of the 7s better for movies. If I was just buying 2 main speakers for music, without a sub, maybe I would have went for the 9s, but that wasn't the case. I also have the PS 1200 sub and mini moniters and they fit together perfectly.
