I've been given a "heads up" that there'll soon be a new forum dedicated to the discussion of all things ANIME.
This has given rise to a comment from an IB representative:[AnimeTalk] should be a forum for all threads anime/manga/graphic novels or other like topics. My preference would be to include books and comics but I can see a very good argument that they should stay in Book Talk. (Happy to go with the crowd on that one.)I thought it best to poll opinion here on the assumption that <s>the crowd</s> regular contributors to comic book discussions are most likely to be those with the strongest and/or well thought out points of view.

Manga belongs under anime, only because their audiences are very similar.

I'm not much of a contributor, I'm a lurker-and-learner, but in my mind I link "manga and anime" much closer than "manga and comics"....even though manga is comics...

There isn't much manga talk here anyway (of course, I don't see a lot of anime talk either, so I'm not sure about a subforum).
Personally, I'd rather see manga here, even though a lot of popular anime is adapted from manga. I think we had a thread in here recently talking about comic book movies/animation, and I think that got moved to movies. Doesn't make a huge difference either way, though.

Manga definitely belongs in the Anime Forum not here.
But Comic Book talk belongs with the books forum. It has nothing to do with Anime.
Regardless, I don't think either need there own sub-forum. The anime DVD thread gets like one post a week, if that.

I'm curious why you think manga should definitely go in the anime forum? Manga are comic books, and are usually sold in the same places as American graphic novels.
But yeah, the comic book forum should stay in book talk, if that was in question (the poll doesn't indicate that, but re-reading the original post it's a little ambiguous).

I did a quick search before making the original post and found just four threads with MANGA in the title in this forum. I've now moved a further four old Manga threads across from Book Talk.
Most likely, if/when this new forum is up and running, I'll move all eight there.
