Thelma and Louise...SE?
I bought a copy of this film and on the back of the DVD case it says"4 documentaries, multiple film angles" and other features that are not on the disc when you play it! Anyone else have this version and where is the real SE??? Any input would be appreciated as naturally I was disappointed as it is opened now and I can't return it!

Re: Thelma and Louise...SE?
MGM originally released this title as a Special Edition two-sided disc. Side one was a dual layer, containing the feature film with some commentaries and some of the extras. The flip side was a single layer, with the rest of the making-of docs, etc.
As MGM has a habit of doing sometimes with its DVD product (It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World and The Terminator also come to mind) they first release a Special Edition version, then later re-issue it as a single-sided disc, eliminating half of the original extra content. Often, they don't issue the stripped-down version with a new UPC, so if you order on-line and the site doesn't update the specs to reflect the newer version's missing features, you don't know you're getting the inferior release.
The older Special Edition shouldn't be too hard to hunt down at pawn shops or used online. It is definitely worth the effort, as Ridley Scott films on DVD usually are loaded with making-of info.

Re: Thelma and Louise...SE?
contact an ebay seller and ask them to tell you whether the disc is single or two-sided.
-OR-
Pick it up used in a CD/DVD shop, pawn shop, etc. so that you can see the disc with your own eyes before buying it.
Good luck.
Steven
UPDATE: Holy crap! I have a copy of this Special Edition on Amazon right now. I list so much, I don't always remember what I have listed.
PM me if you're interested in it. I'll take it off Amazon and do a deal if you want...

The extras on this dvd aren't that good. I watched them and it bored me to death. I sold the dvd and bought the single-sided version.
