Nuance Speakers?

Produced in Canada (Markam, Ontario I believe) these speakers sound to me to be pretty good quality, but I am curious if there are any similar/differing opinions out there because a search of DVDtalk.com failed to turn up anything on them. Seemed to rumble pretty nicely and without distortion or boominess when I demo'd them.

Comments, suggestions, links welcome.

EDIT: A couple of Star4M's Power Towers (independant 150watt subs on each) I believe, a Spatial Cen Pro, and a couple of 1S's for the rears. Were powered by a Yamaha DD/DTS HTR (70w per channel RMS)

Last I listened to these (1.5 years ago),
they had good HF dispersion, but had tonal
accuracy problems.

They may have evolved in this time to correct
these shortcomings.

A couple of years ago, I had auditioned a pair of Nuance speakers. Had to put up with their salespeak. Real lame marketing IMO. Performance was fair with "their" special CD's. Not sure how they would perform with real world stuff.

FWIW, they don't give out specifications or allow audio mags to review their products. Also, they like sell 50% off their MSRP. Pretty gimmicky...that pretty well sums up their products IMO.

Conclusion: Go with other more well known brands that are reviewed and/or regarded by many. Paradigm, Energy, PSB, Mirage, B&W, etc. are some of the more established speakers.
