I purchased this received a few years ago when my only thought of sound was to play VHS tapes and get a good sound. The receiver has a right and left input for a DVD player and outputs for Front left and right and center, Rear left and right and Subwoofer. It has Dobly Prologic mode and Dolby Surround modes. My DVD is the Toshiba 4109x. Right now I have the stereo ouputs of the Toshiba hooked to the Pioneer DVD inputs. Which sound mode should I set the Toshiba to play in? It seems to work best set to PCM, but that makes no sence because I have no connection from the PCM output to the receiver. If anyone has ideas please let me know. Hopfully I will update 1 or both in a year but for now this is it.
