I seem to be having problems with my new SD-2200 and certian DVDs (which happen to be Warner Bros. / New Line) they seem to get dark red and fuzzy picture then lighten up and get clear then dark again (either while playing or while paused), but I haven't had these problems with other DVDs. Anyone experienced this before ? Could the 2200 be bad, or is it a compatibility problem with the way these DVD are coded ?

For example, Tomorrow Never Dies (MGM) plays fine, but Heat (WB) and Detroit Rock City (New Line) both have the light/dark/focusing problems mentioned above

Sounds like macrovision copy protection.

You aren't running it through a VCR are you?

If not, is this your first player? You said "new" so I thought maybe this was a replacement or a second purchase. If so, do these discs do the same thing on the first/other player?<center>

Thanks Blade ... it is hooked up through a VCR ... I didn't even think about that (I had no intention of trying to copy them to tape, although I wonder why the Tomorrow Never Dies doesn't do it) ...

I'm changing it directly to my TV right now (and this is my first DVD player purchase)

As for you stevevt ... get a life ... what an a-hole !

Skyeman, I think all of my answers were helpful. I'm sure this topic is covered in your owner's manual, and I know that this question comes up in this forum every few weeks at least.

Did the "blah blah blah" turn you off?

Anyhow, direct personal attacks aren't welcome here. I apologize if you took my response to be one, but I think yours was pretty out of line.
