Target: Found Seasons 1-4 of Saturday Night Live marked down to $20 each, earlier this week. One store had all 4 seasons available---another store just a couple mile away had none.

I stopped after season 2 cause i didnt get the collectble cooks with season 1 or season 2 and i purchased them as soon as they came out and it even said the books were inside on the case. But both times no damn book.
However for $17 i would bite i think.

Yes, bring the ad in.
You also need to purchase first and then price match to get the extra 10%. Best Buy only does an even price match at the register--the extra 10% is only if you already purchased it. So pay full price at the register and then go to the Customer Service and price match. (That was one thing I liked at Circuit City--they honored their price match guarantee at checkout and didn't make you play games to get the extra 10%).

Yep, that's always been their policy, and that of any store that does the 110%, ymmv on customer service exceptions of course.
I just buy it at full price, then walk straight to customer service to get the 110% back.

I only needed seasons 3 and 4, I already have the first two. Anyway, I went to the local Target at lunch just now and they had just one of each of seasons 2, 3, and 4, and not a single season 1. I picked up the two I needed, leaving them with just one season 2 set.
Way to stock up for this sale Target!

exactly as I said I worked there and they know, me and I'm good there and it doesn't matter.
When I mentioned the 10% thing she quickly handed me the pamphlet
and said the provisions allow for the rules to be smudged to their favor.
the spirit of the rule is supposed to be buy something, then later on,
the next day or so you find ouut it is now cheaper somewhere else, then you come in for a match.
This is as it was explained to me.
eventually she allowed the match but it took a bit of discussion.

The same at my local Target, no book for S1. I went ahead and picked up S2 to S4 for now. The regular price appears to be $19.99, so I didn't really have to hurry to get them all. My Target appears to have a lot in stock as the display was full of all seasons, although all of them had bent corners from tight shrinkwrapping.

I believe that the outer book packaging is only for the 1st pressings, and that later pressings are plain digi-packs, so if you are waiting for a re-stock with the outer book, you might be disapointed

Local Targets finally got these in. I was able to pick up the book style for Season 2 so I have the scrap books for season 1 and 2. BTW, I haven't seen an art book version of Season 1 in a long time so I doubt anyone will find that. I was kind of surprised to find Season 2 with it. Sucks that Universal removed the books after Season 2. The cards in Season 3 are kind of lame, but I guess better than Season 4 that come with nothing extra but the book style box.

Unless someone can show visual proof, there was no book-style version for S1 like they've done for S2-S4. S1 only came in a digipack. Some were packaged with the photobook, which you can clearly see next to the discs in the slipcase.

I agree - I bought season one when it first came out, and it has the book, but it is not packaged like the later seasons. And my copy of season 2 from Amazon for $16.99 IS the LE packaging. My season 3 set should be here on Monday!

There were complaints on DVDTalk, probably in the main DVD Forum, that they lowered the quality of the "book" packaging between 1 and 2, which is true. I found all three seasons I didn't have book-style and pricematched, but the S1 "book" packaging doesn't have the finger notch, feels a little nicer, and mainly, the photo on the inside front was actually a thick cardboard sheet that was added on top of the "cover" part of the book. The sheet went down into the "square" the DVD digipak sits in in a way that held the cover shut.

Well, finally picked up my SNL S1-4 at a BB (that was a little bit of a drive) where I had done the store-pickup option on a web order. When I tried to do the PM, the CSR said that the PM policy of web orders (even with store pickup) was different than B&M. Said I would have to call the 1-888 # - OR - I could do a return of the web order & they would match the Target pricing (no mention/hint of doing the 110% guarantee on that "match"). I declined on the "return" offer and walked out.
Fortunately the store had another set of S1-4 on the shelves & I just went in and bought them at the register. Went over to CSR desk afterwards & got my PM (by a different CSR) w/out a problem.
By that time, I had spent enough time at the store, so I decided to wait until tomorrow to return the web order ones @ a BB that is closer to me.
