Especially if you get them before Sunday at Best Buy and then pricematch on Sunday! They are $54.99 now, pricematching will give you another $3.80 off, right around $13 total per season!

Of course, you can PM anytime during the week, but they have to be in stock at Target, so its best to do it early in the week. :)

SNL for me, especially if I can get the "book" ones. TIA!

The Netbook...is that a good one performance wise and price?

Trevor

Is there an advantage to the original packaging?

I always thought the original came with a book and later on it was dropped.

Neither of the Targets near me carry SNL, so I guess I'll be price-matching S.4 at Best Buy. Thanks for the ad.

I got a mix of old and new packaging. Will open after pricematch and report back.

Wasn't going to buy all four, but for $13 each I couldn't resist.

Target actually carries every movie in its ad in all stores...if they don't, it cannot be in the ad.

the first three seasons came with the "book" packaging and a scrapbook with photos and interviews or something like that. i think season 4 comes in a "book" too, but does not have the scrapbook.

I'm confused with this. So, you're saying buy it at BB before Sunday and then price-match at Best Buy? And what is the extra $3.80 off?

Unless they are getting a shipment in Sunday, neither of the two stores near me carry them. I don't ever remember seeing them and they definitely don't have them now, not even a spot for them.

This is rule #1 of bargain hunting. Never buy an item at the place where it is cheapest, but at the place (that pricematches) where it is most expensive.

In this particular case, buy the seasons at Best Buy while they are $55, they will likely lower the price on Sunday when the Target price is public knowledge. Best Buy has a 110% pricematch policy. If you previously bought something from them within 30 days, and find a lower advertised price that is in-stock at a competitor, come back during the week is it on sale and get the difference plus 10% of the difference refunded. The $38 price difference gives you an additional $3.80 off the Target sale price in this example.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks Trevor.

I usually only price-match at the time of the purchase, only once have I done a post-purchase price-match (I guess that makes sense). I also wasn't aware that that Best Buy had a 110% policy.

edit...just read about the policy on BB's website. Thanks for the heads up guys.

I think it was suggested as well to pricematch early in the week (Sunday if possible). Some BB stores will call the store which has the item on sale to make sure it is in stock. Of course, YMMV on that one.

Weekly comparison thread (http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-bargains/557326-new-release-price-comparisons-week-6-28-09-7-04-09-a.html) done. Looks like Target is cheapest for 12 Rounds SD and BD, Jonas Brothers the Concert Experience all three versions, Two Lovers SD, Princess Protection Program, and Entourage Season 5.

I was able to find a book version for season 3 and 4. However, I have tried 2 Targets and a Best Buy and can not find any copies of Season 2. I already have Season 1 with the photobook and was hoping to get a book version of Season 2, but at this point I will settle for finding a copy of Season 2 period.

The Target circular has one of their prescription coupons (fill a new or transfer another perscription and get a $10 gift card). So it looks like I'll be picking up an SNL seaqson for $6.99.

Damn. Next week sucks for Blu-rays.

Not if you need back titles at a good price. Over in another forum, somebody posted that Target will have a temporary price cut (not advertized) beginning Tuesday running till August...

Deja Vu-16.99
Unbreakable-14.99
The Rock-14.99
National Treasure 19.99
No Country For Old Men-19.99
Kill Bill Volume 1-16.99
Kill Bill Volume 2-16.99
Chronicles of Narnia:The Lion...-19.99
Gangs of New York-16.99
Corpse Bride-11.99
Omega Man-11.99
Dirty Dozen-11.99
16 Blocks-11.99
Beetlejuice-11.99
Blow-11.99

Someone else posted that they had been to Costco and seen Kill Bill Volume 1 & 2 for $15, Chronicles of Narnia:The Lion for $17, & Gangs of New York for $14 or $15.

Until this can be confirmed, probably best to treat this as a rumor. Still, :D2:

Got my priced matched for Season 4 at Target, but no Season 2 sets to be found. Two of the Targets I checked didn't even carry SNL. I also got my price matched on Season 3 at Best Buy, but as I expected it sucked. They refused to believe that Target was selling the same version of SNL they sold. I believe they said "How could it be $16.99 when they sell it for $54.99?" at least 3 times. After talking to 3 different people they finally gave it to me, but then they were upset that I got the extra 10% off, but I guess were unable to find a way to violate their own 110% guarantee and finally gave in.

Only hope for Season 2 is Amazon. Hopefully they match Target's price. I picked up a rain check at Target just in case, but they were pretty doubtful about getting more of these in.

Big thanks to Shoveler & Trevor for pointing out the 110% price-match at BB. I just got back from BB and Season 4 ended up costing me $14.23 after tax.

I hope this is true...I'd definitely snag Beetlejuice on BD for that price!

I found a limited S2 SNL both at Target and BB today. NP price matching. I didn't bother with the extra 10%. BB also had S4 limiteds. Couldn't find any S3's.

not true. look in the fine print. as long as somewhere in that entire ad there's a single tiny mention of "not all items available in all stores" or something similar, they're fine legally.

you're not an idiot. @ DOES just mean "at". It very well could have been interpreted as a pack of seasons 1 and 2 together @ $22.99 (I did, too)
