Re: No love for Sasuke 22?

I had downloaded the unedited Japanese version in good quality a while back

Was disappointed Makoto Nagano didn't make it through stage 1 !

Definitely one of my fav shows, a truly tough athletic challenge

I watched it/them. It was a bit of a changing of the guard with Nagano, Takeda, Yamamoto, Levi M. all going out in the first stage. Funny that a shoe salesman made it furthest.

I wish they would make new episodes of Kunoichi!

So what's different on the japanese version? Do they show every single contestant, or is it just edited together differently. I would imagine the all-stars get some additional interviews and features that they don't bother with here.

They show a lot lot lot more of the contestants.

I think it was around 4 hours total.

I would love to see a Sasuke masters where they have a slightly tougher course (can't get much tougher!) and have only contestants who have ever completed the first stage plus a heap of invited top level athletes. I'm not a huge fan of all the novelty contestants including that stupid octopus man

Re: No love for Sasuke 22?

Had a big gathering last night to sit down and watch it. Gotta agree that I don't like a lot of the novelty contestants, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Kane Kosugi, Barack Obama, and Jack Bauer impersonators. Sadly, even though many of my friends watch Sasuke, I was the only one who immediately piped up when they said Kane Kosugi, "That can't be him. No frakkin way he'd let himself go like that." I wonder what happened to him and his brother Shane. They were some of my favs.

And the atmosphere of our little Sasuke party was palpable when Nagano fell on the first stage. We were all screaming at the TV. Him not passing the first stage was horrifying. The man is a god. Much love to the new guy, can't remember his name, we're all just calling him Al, for coming about 2 seconds shy of claiming Total Victory. I was highly disappointed they allowed him to finish climbing up to the top of Midoriyama and seeing the view. Only Ninja Warriors should have that honor.

Can't wait for 23 now. The next 6 months are going to crawl by. I hope to see Nagano, Yamada, and Yamamoto make it far next time. Especially Yamada. That poor bastard has dedicated his life to the conquest of this infernal course and he deserves it.

I've never heard of this show, but after reading about about it, it sounds awesome.

Yamada hasn't even made it past the first stage in a long time. I'm afraid his time has passed.

It wasn't Kane. It was an impersonator.

Re: No love for Sasuke 22?

You've got to watch Ninja Warrior. Its easily the best "game" show to ever grace television. And it makes Olympic athletes cry with shame at not being able to grind through the courses. You can't get any better.
