Just got an e-mail from WB. If you preorder Watchmen, you get Tales of the Black Freighter for $5.
Watchmen comes up as $23.99 right now on Blu, plus the $5 for Black Freighter.
Just a heads up, not sure if I'm going to bite or not.
Code is WATCH3

I bit, with sales tax, and free shipping, it came to $30.56 for the pair.
Also, if you path to WBShop thru that website that rhymes with cat-call-it, you'll get 4% back, so for the pair it wound up being $29.40, which is pretty bang on.
I figured someone would do a promotion like this at some point, if they'd bundled the motion comic in some way too for a nice price... but you can't have everything.
Thanks for the tip... BTW, for anyone who is thinking of trying, the WBSURVEY coupons won't stack. Neither will the FATHER10 coupon, either.
EDIT: this was for the Blu-Ray versions, forgot to mention that.

Awesome, thanks OP. I bought them, I was thinking at first that they would allow you to only get tales of the black freighter on DVD for $5, but the blu-ray works as well. I've been waiting for a good price for black freighter, and now for that price its like I'm getting Watchmen for free.

Oops, forgot to mention that it was the Blu-ray, which is awesome. I know Zack Snyder said there'd be a cut with Black Freighter included, but I'm not so sure I really want to watch "Watchmen" with it cut in, so this seems like a good alternative.

Michael, I would highly recommend renting the movie before buying unless you are a huge fan of the novel. My wife and I saw it in the theater and neither of us thought much of it. I didn't think it was horrible, just nothing great.

I agree with mattysemo247. I saw it in the theater and loved it, as did most of my friends, but a few thought it was pretty bad. It's just different. Not sure about TOTBF.

You add the two watchmen Bd's then choose another BD then add watch3 then the other code should give third BD free plus second watchmen for 5 dollars and free ship. I paid 30.85 for three BD's.

I actually was trying to buy 3 BD's (one free) plus get TOTBF for $5. For some reason it didn't work with the 4th title in the cart... Or maybe it was because Watchmen always ended up as my free title. Maybe that was the problem. I removed my highest price item, so now a cheaper item became the freebie.

Anybody have any experience with canceling orders from WBShop?
I ordered this very early Saturday before I knew about the second coupon. I just sent them a message through the contact customer service link telling them I want to cancel the order, but does that actually work?
I had to create a second account to apply the coupons since the first account already used WATCH3 it wouldn't let me use it again. I haven't place the new order yet as I'd like to see what happens to first one before I make the decision.

I would call them and cancel over the phone: 1-866-373-4389. I did just last week with no problems. I canceled my Torchwood Children of Earth pre-order and re-ordered it as the freebie in this deal. However, if part of your order was in-stock and already started shipping, you might be SOL...
But please do NOT mention that you going to be replacing the order with another coupon, or ask if they can add the coupon to your existing order, or anything like that. That type of thing could kill the deal for everyone...
Coupons are once per account, so you will need to create a new wbshop account, but it just requires a different email address. You can use the same name and address.

I will echo Matty and Will's comments. In my non scientific study, the only people that consistently liked the movie were people that had read the comic. While the people that disliked the movie were people that hadnt read the comic, and a small portion of people that had read the comic and really, really loved the comic.
I personally didnt think much of he movie when I saw it in theaters, but will at least rent the dvd when it comes out and give it another look.

I love the comic and didn't much care for the movie. I felt it lacked a good flow and they tried too hard to cram in as much as possible that the character work suffered. In doing so, they didn't realize that without the emphasis on character, the details didn't matter. I'm hoping this director's cut will be better, but who knows.
Tales of the Black Freighter/Under the Hood is alright. Not really worth it as a standalone purchase. The two pieces are better suited as a bonus material, but for $5 & a free movie, why not?

I think the problem is that the BDs in the deal must be in the 20% off deal to work. Falling Down is at full price, doesn't work, the others at full price don't work either.

Yeah, I got my TOTBF as well... Everything else was a pre-order...
Same here for me...received my BD of TOTBF last week, and I ordered the new Green Lantern film as my freebie, which is due to be released the same day as Watchmen....

I got a charge for $5.36 on my card, so I'm assuming they've shipped TOTBF and The Complete Motion Comic.
But I haven't received an E-mail, nor does my order at WBShop say anything has been shipped. They did however add a 4th item to my order, called WB Return Policy. I think that's a good sign for shipping.
Edit: Yeah, that's what the charge was for. Got the shipping E-mail today, and I should have them in a week.

I was wondering why a thread with such a minor deal kept getting bumped and was 3 pages long. Finally came in to read it and wish one of you had asked for a title change.

Don't feel too bad. I posted the original deal about the $5 add-on but forget to place my order so I didn't get that or a free Blu-ray. Oh well.

I had called up CS to find out the status and the CS rep said that they are swamped with more orders than anticipated and that most orders wouldn't ship out till 23rd or 24th :(.

Don't complain ... I had ordered Watchmen, Black Freighter and had gotten a "Free" Blu-ray as part of the initial deal.
They ran out of stock on my "free" Blu-ray and cancelled it ... offering me a $10 off $20 coupon in it's place. Not sure how that covers the cost of a $23.95 Blu-ray.
I need to call them tomorrow to see if they will swap it out for something else.

Sigh. While I'm not too bothered they're taking this long (still probably won't watch it for a little while anyway), shouldn't Warner be a little more on top of things, especially when it's their own website? Shouldn't they have been able to look at the number of orders and put two and two together? With the Dark Knight, they were sending out the discs weeks earlier.

FYI and semi-related, picked up both Black Freighter and the Motion Comic DVDs of Watchmen at Target for $5ea.
Signing said 7/21-7/27 (so a possible YMMV), but still scanned the sale prices at the price checker, as well as up front at the register, so $10+tx for both, which should hold me until the Uber version hits.

I did not get any shipping notification, but I checked WBshop.com again this morning, and sure enough, my Watchmen and Green Lantern BDs are now showing as having shipped out yesterday....also via first class mail as others have mentioned (while my TFTBF came UPS as well, very odd)....
