Sigh. Now according to releaselists.com, both "Shaun" and "Fuzz" have been moved to 10/13 (from 7/28). Does Universal hold the record for delaying or cancelling titles?

Yep...better tie ins for Halloween anyway. It may be several years before Universal gets around to releasing all their titles. Funny, HD DVD was around for 18 months (April 06 to Feb 08) and here we are, almost a year after Universal started releasing on Blu-ray and they have only 20ish% of their HD DVD catalog out on Blu.
They were supposed to announce another dozen or so titles last week and since I don't care about Universal, they were going to be both Elizabeth Films, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Evan Almighty will (or would now) be coming out when Office S5 drops on Blu. Few more but I'll have to look at my list. Mostly typical fodder releases.

It's a stretch, but it could be a loose tie-in with Star Trek. Although I think it's speculated that that's being released in September. Maybe they want to wait until ST has been out long enough for most people to see it, so more of them will recognize Scotty on the covers.

Not delayed for those of us who are red or purple. Most of us already have these excellent titles on HD DVD.

Can Universal put all of the extras on the Shaun Blu-ray that are missing from both the R1 DVD and HD-DVD?
Same goes for Hot Fuzz. I want all of the extras from that three-disc set (the HD-DVD had almost all of them, but the three-disc set had some exclusive extras like the bonus audio commentary).

These were both excellent HD DVDs, but I did have an issue with HOT FUZZ. Everytime you watched an extra, it took a long time to get back to the menu, which made watching extras a bit of a chore, especially if the extra was a short one. I have a PS3.
Fix that, and I won't hesitate to buy the blu too.

At least Universal isn't delaying these to coincide with the release of Paul ... or at least pray that they aren't ...

How can these titles be delayed if there was no official announcement? Releaselists.com is not an official source. Not trying to be pedantic, but I just don't feel a sense of disappointment here, since these have always been "coming at some point soon." Still, looking forward to Shaun of the Dead (and Eternal Sunshine, if that's accurate...and An American Werewolf in London, also rumored for October 2009).

Agreed. By now haven't people realized that rumored release dates are almost guaranteed to change, let alone officially-announced ones?

I'm willing to wait (within reason, of course), as long as they get these releases right...

Well when Amazon posts a release date, is that considered "rumored" or a "non official announcement"? Both specifically had July 28, 2009 as the date.

Typically its because they have a date...even if its a placeholder date. But they were never officially announced spec-wise. Don't worry, Universal is bringing is Bring it On 4 on Blu-ray instead. And that's no joke.

Oh, well that more than fills the void. You suck Universal.

I would say yes, unless Universal also officially announced it.
